Designer Select: Anne Sutton - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Designer Select: Anne Sutton

The children are here to play and it’s time to celebrate! Celebration by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda Fabrics truly celebrates all that is whimsical about childhood. Playful imagery and perfect colors fit for the most charming nursery around. The collection is split into boy and girl themes, but Anne Sutton combined the two for our Fat Quarter Shop exclusive Designer Select Bundle! Keep reading to hear all about it!

Q: What was your original inspiration for Celebration?
A:It was the colors in the boy’s line that first inspired me. I’ve wanted to do something with bright red, blue and green for some time now. Having two separate lines, one for girls and one for boys, was really fun!

Q: What inspired you to pick the colors and designs in your Designer Select Fat Quarter Bundle?
A:That’s easy, I picked my favorite fabrics from the line and they all worked together.

Q: What projects do you hope to see made with Celebration?
A:It’s perfect for easy baby quilts that show off a print in larger squares and rectangles. I can see gingham check dresses for girls, sail boat rompers for boys, lots of toys, and of course bedding and curtains!

Q: What are 3 words you would choose to describe Celebration?
A: 1. Playful
2. Happy
3. Cute

*2 Truths and a Lie*
1. I am most creative in the early mornings.
2. I once owned 10 cats and 3 dogs at one time.
3. Pink is my favorite color but next in line is red.

One of the 3 statements is false. Comment on this post telling me which statement you think is false. Answer correctly and you have a chance to win Anne Sutton’s Designer Select Fat Quarter Bundle!

Contest closes 8/31/13.
Good Luck!

  1. I think # 1 is false. I do my best work in the morning, but not everyone is an early bird. Love the new fabrics. Hope I win.

  2. I believe #1 is false. I think she is creative all day long. Love, love, love the designs.

  3. Who can think early in the morning? Seriously? So I guess #1. This bundle is so cute and would go nicely with the new grandbaby girl that's on its way next month!

  4. Probably #1. Sewing is one thing that you can do in the morning, but creativity – well that's an afternoon/evening thing!@ Unless you're one of those "morning folks."

  5. Don't know if I am right. I know you love cats and dogs so #2 could be right, especially if you live in a rural area. So I will go with the flow and say #1 is false.

  6. You can tell that her fav colour is pink followed by red by looking at the photos .. I also love the mornings to relax with a coffee and plan things out ..
I am going to guess #2 is false, that is too many animals and I am sure it breaks some law .. I think she has 2 dogs and 1 cat ?

  7. I think #1 might be the untruth.i hope I'm right as I would love to win that lovely group of fabrics. Thanks.

  8. It's hard to choose between 1 and 2, but since she's such a pet lover, I'll guess that number 1 is false and hope I win the lovely fabrics. Anne is certainly one of my favorite designers.

  9. Tough one — I'd love to be different and guess #3 (not sure about the red), but likely #1 is false. Would be great to take home such a happy palette of fabric!

  10. I am guessing 3 is false, since in the story she said she has wanted to make a red fabric for a while. I think red is her favorite color. I hope I win, I can see making a quilt for a needy baby out of this line.

  11. I think #1 is a lie…she looks like a pet person…and looking at her fabrics you can tell she likes pink and red! (hendrick.pj@tds.net)

  12. I think # 1 is false. The most creative people I know (and frankly the most creative people I know are quilters) are night owls. But I love the fabric all the same!

  13. I think #2 is false – I'm a morning person and like to work in the early morning – and red is such a great color!! So,#2 false. 🙂

  14. Can't be 10 cats and 2 dogs at one time! Couldn't be creative if you had to look after all of them at one time.

  15. I'm going to guess #1 is false! Love the soft colors of Bunny Hill, and nice reds and blues. It's hard to find nice, true reds; thank you!

  16. I think it is #2. I know, by following your blog that you love your animals but I just not sure about 10 cat and 3 dogs. I love the fabric line and would love to win. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  17. I'm thinking #3 is the lie…just a hunch, which doesn't always work out for me, LOL. But I'm really good at hoping my hunches are right. Gorgeous bundle Anne, I agree with you, these are very happy fabrics. Thanks for a chance.

  18. I am guessing #3 I think this collection is just the sweetest. When I see these fabrics as a quilt it makes me smile.

  19. I am guessing #1 is the lie. I love these fabrics. I have 2 new great nieces/nephews on the way and would love to make them baby quilts from these fabrics.

  20. I think #1 is probably the lie. If she is like me, I am a night owl and stay up late. She has pink and red in her collection, and if she lives in the country or on a farm, 2 could be true.

  21. I choose #1 as the lie,
Having all those animals?? maybe but probably true.
Love the fabric, grandkids to sew for.

  22. I think #2 is the lie. I KNOW for sure that pink is Anne's favorite color because that's what drew me to her fabrics and designs — I'm passionate about pink, too. I know Anne loves her animals but I can't see that many in her beautiful house! Plus her blog post was posted at 5 a.m. PDT.

I have a new grandson, Henry, who just turned 14 weeks old yesterday so I could put the fabric to use! I'm working on a quilt for him from Anne's fabric right now!

  23. Thank you for the chance to win some of Ann's beautiful fabric! Love the new line and I have several new babies being born in the family! I think that #1 is the false statement. Oh, I hope I am right and win!!!! Momma needs more fabric… 🙂

    Paige Gonzalez

  24. I think #2 is false because you wouldn't have time to sew with that many animals to care for.

Thanks for a chance to win !

  25. Just because it seems so right, I think #1 is a lie. Sometimes the crazy things are true ~ like all those pets! This is a lovely line and thanks for the giveaway!

  26. I haven't a clue, so I will guess #1 is false. I hope I win.

  27. I think that # 1 is false, # 2 is so cresy that can not be true!
The select bundle shows that # 3 is true! Great fabric! I hope I could get through to win them!

  28. I'll guess 3 is a lie, wanted to say one because I'm not creative in the mornings, but she looks like she might be. So I'll say 3.

  29. #2 – 10 cats & 3 dogs seems a bit much. When would Anne have time to do anything but take care of the animals. Love to win some of her beautiful fabric. Thanks for sponsoring the giveaway!

  30. I think #2 is false, I love everything Bunny Hill does, I am hoping to do Postcard Cuties for the Winter in Wool, thanks for the chance to win, Lorraine

  31. My guess is the lie is #1. I can't believe anyone can be creative early in the morning, but maybe that's just me and my night owl family.

  32. I'm going with #1 because that would be false for me, although true for my mother…so who knows? But since I must pick, it's #1.

  33. I'm going with #1. Morning is coffee time before all else! Love the boy's collection…all of those gorgeous reds would make my Grandchild #2 very happy 🙂

  34. I think #3 is not true. You have a beautiful line of fabrics, and even though you have a lot of pink, I don't think it is your favorite color.

  35. Beautiful fabrics! WoW! Tough to guess which is a lie as all could be. I'll guess #1 is a lie. Reading the comments seems like alot of us are not morning folks, hehe.

Thank you and Anne Sutton for a super giveaway and a chance to win.

  36. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this fabric. I love working on children/babies toys and such and can envision so much with this!

Oh … I think #2 is false. I know pink is her favorite color (mine too), and I know she is an animal lover (me too), but I think that number of animals would be just too many.

Hope, hope, hope! …and Thank You!

  37. Will have to go with #3 being false since I prefer mornings. Pretty line of fabrics.
