Who’s Ready for Cross Stitch May-Nia 2020?

May is right around the corner and I wanted to tell you about all the fun and exciting things you can expect from Fat Quarter Shop this year!

If you don’t already know, Stitch May-nia is a yearly stitch-a-thon of sorts. A little bit of history for you – Stitch Maynia was started in 2015 as a Facebook Group by Garrett Kilgore (aka Coffeestitcher on Flosstube) and Katy Agruso (aka The Stash Queen on Flosstube). The way I do it is each day I begin a cross stitch project and the next day I start on a new one! I’m planning to start on a total of 31 projects for the 31 days in May. I really enjoy seeing my progress and, as you could imagine, some days are better than others!

Don’t go mad for Stitch May-nia, keep yourself organized! I created a FREE downloadable calendar so you can jot down the details for each project you plan to stitch. I think this is such a great way to keep track of progress and it will keep you accountable. If you want to organize each project, then I recommend you pick up a copy of our Cross Stitch Journal. The Cross Stitch Journal allows you to record every detail for every cross stitch project, such as pattern, designer, time spent and floss and cloth used.

Jump-start your Stitch May-nia with a Stitch Along! I designed a mystery cross stitch pattern series called, “Feels Like Home“. The cozy scene starts with a cute little blue bird and grows from there. Each weekly email reveals more of the scene. We are offering this pattern as a downloadable PDF and the Stitch Along will last 5 weeks starting on May 1st!

We are offering some companion products in addition to this pattern which includes a DMC Thread Pack, a Classic Colorworks Thread Pack, Enamel Needle Minder and a Canvas Project Bag to keep it all in!

I hope I’ve given you some inspiration and motivation as we get closer to May 1st. I can’t wait to see what you all are doing. Please share tips on organizing, progress photos and any struggles you might have. Let’s Stitch May-nia together! I can’t wait to get started.

  1. I’m looking forward to my first stitch along, although I am disappointed that the thread pack and project bag are not in stock.

    1. Hi there! The bag is now in stock and we should have thread back in stock in a week or so!

  2. This will be my first. I ordered Feels Like Home pattern. I think it will be beautiful. I’m Getting supplies organized.

  3. This is my first stitch mania. I’m actually a little anxious. I don’t have a huge stash of fabric and have a modest supply of DMC thread but I’m going to give it a go.

  4. Stitch May-nia! Today is May 1, aren’t we supposed to get the first part of the pattern today?

    1. Hi there! You should’ve received it via email this morning. Be sure to check your spam folder and then let us know if you still don’t have it!

  5. Hello, I was wondering if you could resend the first release, I haven’t received it. I did check my spam folder but it wasn’t there either. Thank you very much. Can’t wait to get stitching.

  6. Where do we go to download the second part to the Feels Like Home pattern?
