A few months ago, we taught you how to make the Contrary Husband Quilt Block in our Classic & Vintage series, and the comments were filled with requests for the Contrary Wife Quilt Block. Today, we’re completing the contrary duo and you will love how versatile this simple block is! As always, our Classic & Vintage patterns come with a free video tutorial and pattern for the block as well as a paid quilt pattern, quilt kit, and backing set. Let’s dive into it!
The Contrary Wife Quilt Pattern
Our Contrary Wife Quilt Pattern offers four sizes including Tabletopper, Lap, Twin, and Queen. This classic block is perfect for confident beginners and incorporates half-square triangles and square in a square blocks. The Contrary Wife Quilt Kit includes all the foundation paper that you need to complete your quilt blocks and you can pick up the Contrary Wife Backing Set to finish your Contrary Wife Quilt Kit. If you plan to make your Contrary Wife Quilt with different fabrics, you can purchase the 4″ Half Square Triangle Paper separately. Another handy foundation paper to pick up is the 2” Square in a Square Quilt Block Foundation Paper for the diamonds in the sashing. Our sample and quilt kits are made in the lap size, but the pattern includes instructions for all four sizes!
