Hi everyone! It’s September, and you know what that means? It’s National Sewing and Quilting Month! We’re celebrating all things sewing and quilting at Fat Quarter Shop, and we have tons of projects and fun up our sleeves this month, like Q&A with Kimberly, new product launches, and an FQS Staff Sewing Challenge!
Since we want to express our love for the craft, we created this FREE Color My Heart Quilt Pattern for you! It uses just a handful of charm squares and makes a HUGE block – 27″ finished! Encourage some friends to celebrate with you as we all take on some new challenges. Our Color My Heart Pattern is a perfect place for beginnings to start! (Don’t forget to use #colormyheart on social media when you create this quilt!)
We also challenged your favorite bloggers to try a new sewing and quilting project that they’ve never done before all month long!

Thanks for the pattern but I am a bit confused. If you make half square triangles from charm squares how will the resulting blocks still measure 5"?
