BLOG REMIX - Single Scoop Zipper Bag - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

We’re shaking things up on the Jolly Jabber! We are bringing life back to our old projects with Blog Remixes! Every other Thursday from today until November 15, we will be throwing it back to one of our tutorials with new fabrics, notions, tips and tricks to inspire you to make your next project. Whether you’ve seen this project before or it’s your first time, there’s a remix project for everyone. This week’s remix is the Single Scoop Zipper Bag we did with Dana Willard from the YouTube channel, Made Everyday! They’re perfect for storing sewing supplies, cosmetics or any other goodies you’d like to have close at hand.

Fabric Requirements

Here is what you’ll need to make this project:

1 Fat Quarter for the outside
1 Fat Quarter for the lining
Strap (fabric made into Bias Tape)
Aurifil Thread (we used Aurifil #2115)
14″ Atkinson Design Zipper (we used the Misty Teal 14″ Zipper)
Fusible Fleece
Single Scoop Zipper FREE Template

Victoria of Crocheting Vixen (@crochetingvixen) made her Single Scoop Zipper Bag using Autumn Love by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs. She says “I made a patchwork front using 12 2 1/2″ squares. I skipped the wrist strap and added a selvage tab instead. I’m planning to use this little pouch to keep all of my Autumn Love supplies in while I stitch along with Lori Holt on the Sew Along.”

Teresa of Aurea’s Kitchen (@aureaskitchen) made her Single Scoop Zipper Bag using Disney Fabric she had from her stash. She says “My daughter loves Minnie and Daisy, so I decide to use a fabric from my stash and fussy cut both of them. She carried her critters around on the pouch and is already asking for more. They are a great size for keeping small toys.”

Quilty Staffer Susan made her made her Single Scoop Zipper Bag using Spectacle by Christian Robinson for Cotton + Steel Fabrics (SKU# 9008-01). She says “I used a handbag zipper, which has a larger zipper pull. Also, I moved the zipper pull all the way down past the edge of the bag top to sew on the zipper in one step instead of 2.”

Quilty Staffer Krystal made her Single Scoop Zipper Bag using Moonrise by Alexia Abegg for Cotton + Steel Fabrics. She used the Split Rects Ruler by Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design to piece her block!

Quilty Staffer Bev made her Single Scoop Zipper Bag using Ombre Confetti Metallic by V & Co. for Moda Fabric (SKU# 10807-201M).
