BLOG REMIX – Pocketed Placemats

We’re shaking things up on the Jolly Jabber! We are bringing life back to our old projects with Blog Remixes! Every other Thursday from today until November 15, we will be throwing it back to one of our tutorials with new fabrics, notions, tips and tricks to inspire you to make your next project. Whether you’ve seen this project before or it’s your first time, there’s a remix project for everyone. This week’s remix is the Pocketed Placemats Jera Brandvig of Quilting in the Rain designed for us when she came to visit us last year to showcase her new collection, La Conner! (Love her look?  Check out her upcoming line, Woodland Rose!)  These placemats are an adorable and easy to personalize for the upcoming holidays!

We even had some awesome quilty friends make their version of the Pocketed Placemats:

Quilty Staffer Codi made her Pocketed Placemat using Twilight by One Canoe Two for Moda Fabrics. She handselected the blues, creams and navys that coordinate well with the La Conner Blueberry Lace!

Quilty Staffer Nancy made her Pocketed Placemat using Sing Your Song by Anne Rowan for Wilmington Prints. She used the Sing Your Song fabric collection because it contains some large flowers which she cut around to make a coaster that coordinates with the pocketed placemat.

Quilty Staffer Bev made her Pocketed Placemat using Vintage Adventure by Beverly McCullough for Riley Blake Designs. She says “Fun project for grandkids!”

Quilty Staffer Susan made her Pocketed Placemat using Well Said by Sandy Gervais for Moda Fabrics. She used a 12.5″ block (unfinished) from the Farm Girl Vintage Book for the center and also made a pocket on each side of the placemat!

Brenda of Song Bird Designs (@songbird_designs) made her Pocked Placemat using Swell Christmas by Urban Chiks for Moda Fabrics.

Pat of Scrapatches (@scrapatches) made her Pocketed Placemats using Wild Bouquet by Citrus & Mint Designs for Riley Blake Designs. She made rolled hem napkins to match!

Carole of From My Carolina Home made her Pocketed Placemat using scraps from Moda Fabrics and other collections. She changed the center star to a maple leaf for an Autumn Accent, using a coordinating plaid for the pocket. These will be auctioned off at a charity auction in November just in time for Thanksgiving!
