Whether your child is in elementary school or you’re the student and are working on an advanced degree, there’s something so fun about stocking up on pens, pencils and all the other goodies that will help make the year a success.
Today we’re sharing a great Back to School project with you – Pencil Bags! Remember those fabulous Simple Zipper Bags from Sherri McConnell? The one we made an awesome video tutorial about? Well it’s time to tweak those bags a bit and create classroom-worthy Pencil Bags that will earn an A+! (This pug-tastic bag – above – was made with this fabric from the Joie de Vivre collection from Art Gallery Fabrics)
Personalized = FUN!
GREAT GIFTS!
These darling zipper bags make great teacher gifts, too, so why not stitch up some extras while you’re at it? You’ll have a personalized gift ready for Christmas or Teacher Appreciation Day. Just tuck a Starbucks gift card or some candy inside, and the recipient will be delighted!
We hope you enjoy making these fun and functional Pencil Bags for the student in your life. Please share your Pencil Bags with us on social media using the hashtags #fqsfun and #simplezipperbag. Happy Quilting!

Awesome sauce. Thank you soooo much for the tutorial.
I have had so many "yoooge" projects, it will be nice and fun to get creative with these

Hi everyone! Yes, those are Kimberly and Kevin's children – so cute!
The pug ribbon that was used on two of the bags is from Renaissance Ribbon.
There aren't specific sizes for the pencil bags. Just rectangular in shape. 🙂
Thanks, y'all!
