The Granita Cross Stitch Pattern was inspired by the Granita Quilt Pattern from It’s Sew Emma! With stars and snowflakes, Granita is an ode to frosty windows and starlit nights. This cross stitch pattern includes three colorways in blue, red, and gray in both DMC and NPI conversions!
This stitch along will be from September 8 to November 3. Read more below to learn about our floss colorways and how you can stitch with us!

Granita Thread Colorways
We have three colorways available for Granita. You can stitch the entire pattern in gray, blue, or red tones – or you can mix and match the colorways together! Kimberly got her NPI thread packs from the NPI Floss Club, and that’s where she came up with the idea of having different NPI and DMC colorways for this stitch along. We have put together one colorway for you in the Granita Blue NPI thread pack, and below you can find the NPI and DMC colors if you’d like to choose red or grey shades for your piece.
You can pick up your Granita Blue NPI Thread Pack or handpick the blue DMC colorways we’ve provided below!

I’m doing my Granita in a purple colorway on 14ct opalescent aida
Blue DMC color numbers are missing.
Sorry about that – we had a slight malfunction on the blog! They are there now 🙂
Newer to cross stitch… are there tips/tricks for gridding out fabric to start in the upper left corner? I have typically just always started in the center? Will there be any SAL videos to get us started?
Hi Katrin! One trick that Kimerbly likes to use for situations like this is utilizing cross stitch line keepers. It helps to block out sections of the pattern as well as sections on your stitching, and it helps you stay on track and not get lost in your stitch count! We won’t be having a specific video series for Granita, BUT Kimberly will be giving us tips and insight on stitching the pattern each Wednesday on FlossTube as she completes each section for the SAL.
What count will Kimberly be using, on what Aida, zweigert?
Kimberly will be stitching on White Opalescent 14 Count Aida 18″ x 21″by Zweigart!
Will that be easier to sew on than Cloud 25 Count Lugana by Lori Holt for Zweigart?
What is the difference between White Opalescent 14 Count Aida and Cloud 25 Count Lugana by Lori Holt for Zweigart?
I belong to the NPI silk club and haven’t got the blue pack yet I started the month or two after that pack came out. I don’t want to buy it then recieve it again in the club. Can you tell if I should buy itor wait for the club.
What are the pink npi threads Kimberly is using? I would like to order those.
Hi Tracy! All of the pink NPI threads that Kimberly is using are listed and linked above, you can also find them on the Granita SAL page linked above as well!
