Sew Along Schedule
The Farmyard Friends Sew Along runs from April 2026 to March 2027. At the beginning of each month, visit our social media to see the finished block(s) for the month. Then, come back toward the end of the month to see a reel of Kimberly sewing the block(s)! To participate in the Sew Along, just download the FREE PDF Sew Along Schedule below, then share your progress by tagging @FatQuarterShop so we can feature your block at the end of this month.
For all our stitchers out there, we have the Farmyard Friends Cross Stitch Pattern designed by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet. Like the quilt, it features four animal friends playfully balancing on one another. Perhaps they, too, are trying to reach for the stars! The pattern is designed for 25-count Lugana and finishes at 9.625″ x 14.5”, and Kimberly will be stitching hers on 14-count Aida, which finishes at 8.625” x 12.875”. I have done lot of Lori Holt quilts and own all her books.I have never used paper piecing foundations before. Is it really necessary? I don’t want to spend that much money.
No, you don’t need the papers to do that quilt. The pattern will have traditional piecing instructions but the papers are just an added option for those who like paper piecing and/or want their blocks to be perfect.
