We’re ready to start sewing our 10th Annual Charity Quilt, Bountiful! Let’s get started on the first pattern release, the Baskets! We can’t wait to start sewing with you. Be sure to read on to the post for our first Bountiful Charity Cross Stitch release.
DOWNLOAD THE BASKET BLOCKS PATTERN
The first pattern release is the Basket Blocks and it’s the star of the show! You’ll need to make two of these for the quilt. We’re sewing with the Sunwashed collection by Corey Yoder for Moda Fabrics. If you’re sewing with something different, download the fabric requirements to make this year’s charity quilt.
Sew Along with Kimberly!
On February 28th at 7 PM CT (5 PM PT/8 PM ET), tune in to the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube Channel, and sew along with Kimberly Jolly live as she shows you how to make the Basket Blocks in a special Beyond the Seams Livestream.
Our Bountiful Quilt and Cross Stitch Pattern benefit Make-a-Wish Central & South Texas.
As we embark on our 10th Annual Charity Quilt, we continue to be amazed by the generosity of this sewing community and inspired by the stories of the children who have been granted life-changing Wishes. The fundraiser works by offering the Bountiful patterns as FREE downloads during the event for a suggested donation to our Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas campaign. From now through August, we will publish a new pattern here on the blog on the first Friday of each month.
Bountiful Quilting Spotlight
We have a great lineup of quilters sewing along with us (like you if you’re reading this)! See what this month’s designer and quilter had to share below.
Corey Yoder
Corey Yoder of Coriander Quilts (@corianderquilts) is the talented Moda Fabrics designer and author who designed this year’s Bountiful charity quilt. We think it looks stunning in the colors of her new Sunwashed collection. It also looks lovely in Nantucket Summer and Dwell by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics which is what Corey is sewing with!
We asked Corey, “what practice of yours has yielded the most “bountiful” results for you in quilting? Why?“
“My husband and I started releasing regular YouTube videos last year. It started out as a way to share tutorials, sew along videos, and WIP videos but it’s turned into so much more. I’ve so enjoyed getting to know so many quilters and having wonderful chats that I would have missed out on if we hadn’t decided to share more videos.”
Click on the photos below to see them in more detail.
Be sure to visit Corey’s blog post where she’ll be sharing more details!
Bonus Finishing Patterns for Bountiful
We are so excited to be announcing that along with having the block patterns for Bountiful, we will be releasing extra finishing patterns you can do with the blocks! When your donations reach each $20,000 milestone you will unlock a new pattern! We will release one extra setting pattern for you to transform your Bountiful blocks into a new project! When you donate today, you’ll get us closer to our goal of granting ten wishes, and closer to releasing a new bonus pattern.
Bountiful Cross Stitch
A companion cross stitch design is back again this year as part of the Bountiful Stitch Along! This stunning cross stitch design is overflowing with flowers and butterflies that match the 2023 Bountiful Charity Quilt.

Looking forward to your videos.
Your 21 blocks and I am 5 blocks in. I am pretty sure I will not get this done but still struggling. I will get done but maybe not all of them. This is a real challenge for me but still working on it. Hope everyone gets done and enjoys. I used my own fat quarters and isn’t helping much as I don’t seem to be into getting them in the right order but can’t wait to see everyone’s when done.
