We’re almost ready for our 9th Annual Charity Quilt Along, Heartfelt! We’re stepping into this year’s quilt along with the fabric requirements for this heartwarming quilt and a special charity auction to benefit Make-a-Wish! We’ll publish a new Heartfelt pattern and video tutorial on the first Friday of February through September of 2022. We’re getting started soon, so let’s gather our supplies and get ready!
If you’d like to make your quilt like ours, you can use the Beautiful Day fabric collection by Corey Yoder for Moda Fabrics. If you’re sewing with something different, download the fabric requirements to make this year’s charity quilt.
Some helpful notions to use with the Heartfelt Quilt would be Doug Leko’s Simple Folded Corners Ruler (there are LOTS of corners to cut in this quilt haha), and the Heartfelt Project Bag for all of your quilt blocks!
If you’re unsure what thread to use, we found that 50wt Aurifil Thread (Color 2600) blends in nicely for piecing. Longarm Quilter Gina Tell quilted the Heartfelt quilt with 60wt Glide Thread (Color Cool Grey 3) in pantograph design called Rainbow Hearts.

As we embark on our 9th Annual Charity Quilt we continue to be amazed by the generosity of this sewing community and inspired by the stories of the children who have been granted life-changing Wishes. The way the fundraiser works is that we offer the Heartfelt patterns as FREE downloads during the event for a suggested donation of $5 each to our Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas campaign. Or feel free to make a larger, one-time donation of $50. No amount is too small and every bit counts. From February to September, we will publish a new pattern on the Heartfelt Announcement blog on the 1st Friday of each month.

Yes. They are pretty much do the same thing.
I’ve received my kit. Now what? I’m new to Quilt Alongs. I’m hoping there will be a beginner tutorial before we actually start the process.
