2021 Quilting Recap – The Fall Edition

It’s time for another quilting recap! It’s a fall roundup of my latest finished quilts. I’ve been up to A LOT since my last recap post in the summer, and I’m sew excited to share my new projects with you! I sewed up mystery patterns, lots of pillows, block challenges, and more. Read on for all of my quilt details.

Cathedral Garden Pillow

In honor of Joanna Figueroa and Carrie Nelson’s book, A Scrapbook of Quilts, they lead us in a fun Pillow Along inspired by the multitude of patchwork pillows, pincushions, and quilts that you can sew from the book. The Cathedral Garden Pillow was one of the projects that I made from the Pillow Along. You can learn more about this Pillow Along on Joanna’s blog!

Neighborhood Condo Tablerunner

My Neighborhood Condo Tablerunner was another project that I sewed during the A Scrapbook of Quilts Pillow Along! From the striped binding to the floral quilting by Gina, the little details in this tablerunner came together nicely.

Nine Across Square Pillow

Another project from the A Scrapbook of Quilts Pillow Along, my Nine Across Square Pillow! I got to use my favorite neutral scraps to piece this one together.

Riley Blake Block Challenge Quilt

I started working on the Riley Blake 2021 Block Challenge back in February, and it was great to finish up my quilt! Designed by Riley Blake designers, 16 blocks were released over a span of four months. You can find all of these blocks over on their blog!

Serendipity 2021 Charity Quilt

You all know how close this quilt is to my heart – Serendipity was our 2021 Charity Quilt design. With your help, we were able to raise $120,037 for our Make-a-Wish fundraiser! I’m looking forward to our upcoming 2022 Charity Quilt and Stitch Along. Next year’s quilt, Heartfelt, was designed by Corey Yoder in the Beautiful Day fabric collection.

Pirouette Wreath Pillow

I made a lot of adorable pillow decor during the Scrapbook of Quilts Pillow Along! The Pirouette Wreath is another block designed by Carrie Nelson in A Scrapbook of Quilts.

Bats & Boos Mystery Quilt

I would be surprised if you didn’t recognize this quilt- Bats & Boos was a big Halloween hit this summer! We released a FREE mystery Bats & Boos quilt and cross stitch pattern, block by block, for four weeks. It was great to see all of the different variations of our mystery pattern that you created! We’re working on our latest mystery sew along, All the Trimmings, if you want to pop in and join us.

Lori Holt Red Sampler Quilt

This quilt has been an adventure! Lori put together a sweet little quilt along using her cutest red and white fabrics and her books. You can learn all about her Red Sampler Quilt Along on her blog!

The American Quilters Stitch Along has been a joy to participate in! My friend Lisa Bongean started this stitch along in June as a fundraiser for Hogs For Heroes, a nonprofit that supports at-risk Veterans with a healing alternative: wind therapy, as Bikers affectionately call it! Each week Lisa released a block tutorial for the quilt that you can find on her YouTube Channel.

Silo Barn Quilt

This quilt is one we’re working on now during our new Quilty Barn Sew and Stitch along (I sewed this one head of time, hee hee)! During this sew along, you get to mix and match blocks from the Farm Girl Vintage book and truly make a farm girl quilt with your unique twist. You can get started on the Silo Barn quilt with my Silo Barn Fabric Kit!

Jelly Roll Jackpot Quilt

In honor of National Sew a Jelly Roll Day, we created the #JellyRollJackpot challenge to celebrate. In this challenge, I made this quilt with my creativity and one Jelly Roll. If you want to see how I constructed this quilt, head to our YouTube channel to see a timelapse of my sewing room as I made this quilt from start to finish!

And that’s it for my latest quilty recap, time to sew on…
