Hey Quilters! We hope your day is going well, but we’re about to make it even better with a little bit of Jelly Roll love. Our next Shortcut Quilt is the Jelly Roll Railway, and you will totally want to hop on board! The Railroad Crossing quilt block is a total classic that most quilters will recognize, and this is our strippy tribute to that beloved block. In this video, Kimberly will show you how to make the blocks from a Jelly Roll and how to get the most perfect matching points!
Grab the free Jelly Roll Railway pattern, a Jelly Roll (obviously), 1 2/3 yards for background fabric, and 1 7/8 yards for the accent and border fabric. A square ruler that is at least 9″, like the Creative Grids 9.5″ Quilting Square, will make this project a cinch!
Our quilt features Berry Merry by BasicGrey for a modern winter quilt that sparkles, but our bloggy friends have quilted it up in different colors for you to see how it can be transformed for any day of the year.
Watch the video to see how Kimberly makes the Jelly Roll Railway block, then share your quilts with us with #jellyrollrailway.
Then share this video with a friend! It’s always fun to see how the same pattern can look so different (yet equally amazing) with different fabric choices.
See how this quilt turned out for our bloggy friends! You don’t want to miss their versions – soooo so amazing!
