We Love Creative Grids, Do You?

Hello quilters!  We have been huge advocates of Creative Grids rulers for some time now; it’s a no-brainer for us with their easy-to-read lines and grippy non-slip textures.  But there are also a wide variety of them out there, so what are the stand-outs to us?  From basic to specialized, Kimberly and a few of the Fat Quarter Shop team have listed their favorite Creative Grids rulers.

“I absolutely LOVE Log Cabin Quilts! This ruler makes it so easy to make perfect log cabin blocks.  See it in action in our Hope Blooms Quilt video.” – Kimberly

“This is by far my favorite specialty ruler! It helps create the most accurate dresden block, and it’s so easy to use.  We have a video tutorial coming out this month on how to create the Sundance Dresden Pillow with this ruler!” – Codi

“Let’s go back to basics with this must-have ruler for all quilters.  The 8 1/2″ x 24 1/2″ ruler is my everyday go-to ruler.” – Deborah
* We should note, this ruler was on EVERYONE’s daily use list!

“This ruler might seem intimidating to use, but it’s actually very simple!  This 30 Degree Triangle Ruler gives the coolest effect for your blocks.  We used it with Jelly Rolls in our Firecrackers quilt.” – Jocelyn

“I love making strip quilts, and the Stripology ruler cuts down my cutting time in half.  It makes it so easy to cut my 2 1/2″ strips from any print I like.” – Kat

“This ruler is the perfect size for my love of small projects and quilts.  It’s also great for traveling in your sewing kit.  I definitely recommend having multiple of these small rulers.” – Sarah

  1. The new rulers I ordered are so much better than my older Creative Grid rulers, with better holding circles on the bottom and darker numbers. I'm very pleased with my
    8 1/2 x 24 and my 6 1/2 x 18. Hopefully I can upgrade several more.

  2. Wonderful array of rulers and I do have my eye on some of them. I just ordered the 2 1/2 x 6 1/2 creative grid ruler. Looking forward to just using one ruler for my little projects, instead of switching back and forth. Thank You for sharing all of your favorites.
