Can you purchase the pattern and the papers but use your own fabric? I really don’t care for Tula Pink fabric nor really bright colors. I love your papers and have used them to make Christmas ornaments. Thanks you.
I’m glad you love the papers and want to make the Dragonfruit Quilt! The pattern for the quilt is only available through the block of the month club, which does come with the Tula Pink fabric. The pattern includes fabric requirements so you could always gift the fabric that comes in the box to a Tula Pink fan that you know and use your own fabric with the pattern and papers!
Do you recommend pre washing or starching the kit fabric before cutting it?
Hello Shelia! You can definitely starch the fabric in this kit! We love working with starched fabric but it’s not necessary if you prefer working with unstarched fabric.
So excited for this! Thanks!
This is cute! Are there monthly “how to videos” with tips for each block?
There won’t be monthly videos, Kimberly is just doing the blocks for the Livestream for this first month as a little teaser for the rest of the club. All the instructions are included in the pattern!
Jill, I am doing this quilt and it isn’t super hard but you would benefit from watching some of the tutorials that are available on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube channel. There is one for a quilt “Fullcolor” and while it isn’t exactly the same, the technique is similar. I made that quilt too and that tutorial was very easy to follow and made it so much easier to work with the paper piecing method!
Is there a X-STITCH patterns with Dragon Fruits? I think it would be a great mate & sewing colorful!
Hello Nancy-Katharyn! There is not a cross stitch pattern for this quilt, but I agree that the colors would look amazing!
Ok so when do we take the papers out? I have finished Month 1 and 2 and put the blocks together but papers are still in bc I couldn’t find the answer.
