Table Talk Blog Tour - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Table Talk Blog Tour

We are so excited to participate in Gudrun Erla’s Table Talk Blog Tour.

The “Table Talk” Book by Gudrun Erla features table runners, table toppers and family treats! What could be better than a book about fabrics and food? The book includes six pieced projects, three holiday projects, four “quilt as you go” projects and three leftover projects as well as fifteen recipes.

Gudrun grew up in Selfoss, Iceland; a small town of only 4,000. Her earliest memories are conversations within the family around the dining table. Hence the idea of a book filled with table toppers and food. Stories of her family and photos of her years growing up fill the pages. All the projects are beautifully illustrated and the directions for each project are easy to follow. As you page through the book you’ll find the recipe for Harvest Soup or Hot Fudge Pudding Cake ….oh my!

Our favorite pattern in the book is the “Wrapped It Up Runner.”  It features the block Gudrun designed for our 2010 Designer Mystery Block of the Month Club. Three little packages wrapped up in red ribbon are at each end of the runner with a beautiful star block in the center. She also includes a “Jelly Jar Runner” made from leftover Jelly Roll strips! What a great idea! Gudrun says, “The thought of having these rectangles lying around my sewing room made me think of all the jelly jars clogging up my fridge with just a little jelly on the bottom. I quickly cleaned them out and used them up too!”

Following is the lineup for the rest of the tour:

Tuesday May 24th: Sandy Gervais – Pieces From My Heart
