Sugar & Spice by The Quilted Fish

Sugar and Spice and everything nice, that’s what little girls are made of.  Sunshine and rainbows and ribbons for hair bows, that’s what little girls are made of…. I think we have all had a taste of that poem before and now you can visualize it on fabric.. well that is at least what I see in it.  Let’s welcome Amanda Herring of The Quilted Fish to see the real inspiration behind her new line…

Hello! I am so excited to be here on the Jolly Jabber today! I am Amanda Herring and I design under the name The Quilted Fish. Get it? Herring….fish…..???? Anyway, I am so excited to talk to you about Sugar and Spice my new line of fabric with Riley Blake Designs! This was such a fun line to design. My inspiration for this line was my best friend. {Get your tissues ready, because it’s gonna get a little sappy.} She is always following me around the country, schlepping boxes and taking orders. I wanted her to know how much she means to me!

I love the colors in Sugar and Spice. I think they are SO fun and so easy to work with that you could make almost anything out of them! Someone told me they were going to do their baby nursery out of Sugar and Spice. Wouldn’t that be cutesy-poopsy? I can’t wait to see all of the fun and creative ways that people use this fabric. Here are some Sugar and Spice pictures….

I hope you enjoy Sugar and Spice. It really does make EVERYTHING nice. And what’s next from me? I just finished my next line for Riley Blake Designs that will be out this fall. It is called Delighted and I think you are going to love it! I am also working on some fun new patterns for spring market with Sugar and Spice. I am having a lot of fun working with the new laminated fabrics. They are available in 7 different prints! Just imagine the possibilities! Thanks for reading along. If you want to keep up with me you can come to my blog any time. Have a great day and happy sewing!

  1. I just saw this line at a quilt shop yesterday and fell in love with it. The shop owner had made a Katie cupcake "My favorie bag" out of it and it was adorable. She was going to use it as a diaper bag so had used the laminate on the bottom and the in side.
