We packed our pencils, notebooks, and of course cameras and headed off to Schoolhouse at the Spring 2018 Quilt Market! We saw lots of new fabrics that will be on our site soon and can’t wait to share them with you!
Bigger is not necessarily always better and that is definitely the case with the Moda All Stars Mini Charm Quilts Book! With 18 clever projects to do with 2 1/2″ squares, you’ll be elbows deep in Mini Charm Pack projects. We even got a look at some of Lissa Alexander’s Oh, Scrap! Quilt Book quilts, making this schoolhouse definitely one we did not want to miss!
We were really happy to see Sherri Falls, of This and That Patterns, newest book, Garden Sampler Block of the Month! She partnered with It’s Sew Emma to create and publish her gorgeous block of the month book!
Our very own It’s Sew Emma and Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree Quilts collaborated on a new book, the Christmas Figs Block of the Month, and we got to see the amazing projects from it! From the sampler quilt to tablerunners, pillows and more, this Block of the Month Program gets you prepared for the holidays!
We also saw another It’s Sew Emma collaboration with Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts for her Sew In Love Book! We fell in love with both versions of the quilt, pieced (in photo) and appliquéd, using her newest Little Sweetheart collections.
We saw Tula Pink’s newest collection, Zuma, where Tula revisits her ocean themed fabric! It has jelly fish, unicorn sea horses and many more nautical creatures!
We got a chance to see Tilda’s two newest collections, Sunkiss and Tone Finnanger!
We got a glimpse at the Meet the Makers Block of the Month! This BOM will start over the summer and will use Riley Blake’s Confetti Cottons!
We got a look at the one of a kind Plan to Quilt, Quilt to Plan Planner! The best thing is that there is no calendar, so you can use this planner year after year. Shannon Orr created this planner to help her with finishing her work and progress quilts and is sure it will help you with yours too!
We got to see Violet Craft’s newest pattern, The Cow, a whimsical take on her animal themed quilts!
We saw Zen Chic’s newest Spotted More Paper Quilt Kit! It uses her two newest collections, Spotted and More Paper.
We were taken back to the 1800s with the quilts from Jo Morton’s book, Jo’s Little Favorites III Quilt Book, and Carol Hopkins book, Civil War Legacies IV Quilt Book!
We got cozy with the adorable Cuddle and Embrace Double Gauze fabrics from Shannon Fabrics! And we got some great tips to help quilt fleece.
We got into the spooky Halloween spirit at Kimberbell’s schoolhouse where she showed us her newest collection, Broomhilda’s Bakery!
We also got to see Bonnie Sullivan’s newest collection for Maywood, Color Wash Woolies! She was inspired to make a hand dyed collection that looked like wool and was very versatile!
We were thrilled to see a convenient way to use precuts! The Easy Quilts from Precut Fabrics Book from Martingale shows you how to do just that!
We got a look at Gerri Robinson’s newest collection, Rose Garden! The gorgeous pinks and browns of this collection make great quilts!
We also got a sneak peek at Elizabeth Hartman’s newest line, Arctic! This line is so adorable and works great with her North Stars Quilt, Penguin Party Quilt, Arctic Feathers Quilt and Swan Island Quilt.
After completing the full day of Schoolhouse, we went to Sample Spree where we, along with many other quilters, waded through the masses to see what fabric samples we could get!
Along with seeing sneak peeks of what’s to come on the Fat Quarter Shop website, we were able to get our hands on some awesome bundles that will be given away everyday we are at market! Keep up with our blog posts to enter to win!
