Sew Much Love by Diane Knott

Diane Knott returns to the Jolly Jabber today to talk about her newest collection for Clothworks called Sew Much Love. As the title implies, it is full of charming notions, with some florals, stripes, and paisleys in the mix, along with a beautifully painted panel! Diane’s whimsical artistry is evident in the soft and romantic prints and palette of buttercup yellows and pastry pinks, punched up with some strong purples and aquas. There’s never been a better collection to adorn your sewing room!

Hi everyone! The Fat Quarter Shop’s Jolly Jabber has invited me back for a 2nd blog! I’m delighted! It’s all because they’ve just had my “Sew Much Love” fabric collection by Clothworks delivered and they’re all ready to upload it for sale. (FQS NOTE: It is on the site as of today, yay!) I couldn’t be happier! These some pictures of the kinds of things that surround me in my sewing room and that inspired me to design the collection: spools, scissors, pincushions, needles, boxes and boxes of threads, beads, sequins….FUN stuff that we all love when we love to sew! “Needful Things”.

I can’t imagine not being able to sew. I started at my mother’s Singer machine when I was just 10 years old making doll clothes for my Barbies. Now it’s mostly crafts and quilted items but lots of handwork for the pins that I make. The little teacup pincushion in the picture is something I created a few weeks ago using a sweet little cup that someone gave me in an online exchange. It has a whole new personality now.

I’m thrilled with the free design that Clothworks is including with the collection. It isn’t for a quilt this time but for a wall hanging with pockets that are made from the images in the main panel. It’s perfect for the sewing room to hold all of the kinds of things we need for our projects so that they’re all easily accessible, especially if you have to work in a small space. It makes a very attractive way to stash those items away when you’re not using them. I think it would make a wonderful gift for the stitcher on your list who has everything. It’s on my list of things to make very soon!

I hope everyone will enjoy sewing with this latest group and that you will share your projects with us! I’d love to see them if you send me personal pictures. I would be proud to display them on my own blog. Don’t be shy!

And….for what’s coming up….be on the lookout soon for one more “delicious” group from my drawing board (not from my pantry or refrigerator) called “Just Desserts”! As I’ve told everyone, I thought maybe we should put a “disclaimer” in the selvage edge that I’m not responsible for any chocolate cravings that increase your waist size! It’s yummy and full of “sweetness”! 😉

Later this winter when the Old North Wind starts blowing, Clothworks will be shipping my “Sleepyheads” flannel collection just in time for keeping the children warm. It’s soft and cuddly with some little furry critters adorning the main components. Something to think about if you have a baby on the way or maybe a new grandbaby! This group was so much fun to design – it’s all softness in pastel shades with tiny, delicate coordinates. And no one says YOU can’t cuddle up under a quilt made from this group either! It’s perfect for storytime snuggling!

Again, thank you Jolly Jabber and Fat Quarter Shop for inviting me to post on your blog again. It’s always a pleasure and an honor to be included.
