Calling all quilters for a star-spangled new sew along! Whether you love traditional piecing or prefer foundation paper piecing, the Scrappy Americana Flag Sew Along is for you. The pattern is written for both traditional and paper piecing, and we can’t wait to see which quilty adventure you choose for this sew along. Join Kimberly and Lori Holt in this ten-month sew along starting in May 2025 to sew a patchwork flag quilt using Lori Holt’s new Americana Collection from Riley Blake Designs.

Kimberly will be sewing with the Scrappy Americana Flag Quilt Kit and matching Backing Set. As you all know, Kimberly is a huge fan of paper piecing, so she will also be using the Scrappy Americana Flag Foundation Paper Notion Set while making this quilt. Quilt Along Schedule
The Scrappy Americana Flag Sew Along is a ten-month sew along that runs from May 2025 to February 2026. We’re sharing our progress over on our social media accounts on the second Friday of each month (Flag Fridays!), so be sure to follow us on your favorite platforms to stay up to date! Don’t forget to tag us in your progress posts and use the hashtag #ScrappyAmericanaFlagSAL so we can stay up to date on what you’re doing, too.
Each month, we will be sewing a different quilt block from the Scrappy Americana Flag Quilt Pattern, starting with the Four Patch Stripe Blocks in May and ending with the Quilt Center and Finishing in February. On the Introduction page of the pattern, we have a table of contents that tells you which page to find the instructions for the month’s block, depending on the piecing method you choose.
To participate in the Scrappy Americana Sew Along, you simply need to grab your copy of the quilt pattern, gather your supplies, and start sewing!
