Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Vol. 11 Blog Tour - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Vol. 11 Blog Tour

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the Jolly Jabber! We are thrilled to be a part of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Vol. 11 Edition

Ready to see our blocks? Let’s start with Kimberly’s “My Favorite Colors” block. This block was inspired by her four adorable kids and each of their favorite crayon colors and the Best Day Ever collection.

This is Nova’s first ever Quiltmaker block and she was so excited to share her creation with everyone. Her “A Kite’s Tale” block was inspired by her father’s love of kites. She used the Miss Kate collection by Bonnie & Camille to create her kite strips and used different stitches from her sewing machine to create the kite tail.
Codi wanted to create something that was modern with a touch of the southwest for her first Quiltmaker block. She named her block, “Stellar”(after Nova) and used the Cotton + Steel Basics in Night Owl. Don’t these Xs look like stars?
Last but definitely not least, is Jocelyn’s “Night Blooming” Block in the Pedal Pushers collection. This block is a combination of her favorite classic blocks, the log cabin and the eight-point star.

Don’t forget to visit the Quiltmaker website for giveaways and more blocks from other designers as well. Happy quilting!

  1. Congratulations to all four of you for the beautiful and creative blocks! I can't wait to try them out! I already have one picked out and waiting to be sewn. Hugs, Karen

  2. what great blocks! I particularly love Jocelyn's block – I'm a huge fan of log cabin quilts and I adore the fussy cutting she did!

  3. Congrats to all of you on your lovely blocks! I enjoy doing this Blog hop. Thanks for a chance to win the 100 block magazine.

  4. Oh, I like them all, but the kite just "speaks to me." Thanks for sharing your talents and thanks for sponsoring the giveaway.

  5. What a talented group of ladies and great blocks. Love the crayon blocks. I think I will be making a quilt for Project Linus with this block.

  6. The kite with the kite's tail made me smile.

When I was a kid many, many, many years ago, my Dad would tell whomever called me on the phone that I had gone up on a Kite's tail….:))

  7. All 4 blocks are darling, but I LOVE the Favorite Colors block (another that would be cute in a signature album quilt, like for a teacher), but I also appreciate the beautiful fussy-cutting in the Night Blooming Block.

  8. As usual, you haven't disappointed with the blocks from your very talented people! Congrats! I love Night blooming!

  9. Congratulations on your block publication, Kimberly! Those crayons are so pretty and would look great in a quilt. Lovely work and so clever!

  10. I'm so glad I don't have to pick a favorite as these are all wonderful blocks. Thanks for sharing.

  11. I love Codi's Stellar Block. I'm a big sucker for anything that is starry. Being blue – my favorite color – never hurts! Thanks for the chance to win!

  12. I love them all but my fav is jocelyn's "Night Blooming" Block. I can just imagine a little fairy sitting on the bloom square making a wish on the star or on a moon 🙂

  13. So many great blocks to choose from. Love the stellar and the combo of my two favorites- log cabin and stars.

  14. I really like the Twirling Rose, I am looking forward to all the blocks but I really look forward to the lil girly blocks as we will be having a Gbaby girl in September!

  15. These are all great. Such fun prints and cute designs! I can visualize secondary designs in the Blooms block as a quilt.

  18. Nova's A Kite's Tale block has captured my imagination. It is wonderful especially since Miss Kate is one of my favourite fabric collections. Thank you to all of you at the Fat Quarter Shop who have taken part in the 100 Blocks Blog Hop. It has been a blast of a tour.

  19. Just when I think it can't get any better, you show the next block. I love each one! You guys are so creative and talented. Thank you. kathleendotlutzatcomcastdotnet
