This week we’re going to sew the Prim Star Block. We’re making our way through this beautiful quilt and sharing our progress along the way.
The Prim Star Block starts on page 22. You will make four.
About the Quilt
Lori pulls beloved elements from vintage medallion applique and cross stitch to create an exquisite sampler quilt. The quilt features an elaborate vintage vase holding a sweet floral arrangement of flowers and leaves, surrounded by a colorful array of cross-stitches honoring a sister art. It’s sewn with traditional piecing techniques and it finishes at 63.5″ x 75.5″. There is no paper piecing or applique needed.
Fabric Requirements and Supplies
You will need your Prim & Proper book and some fabrics to make this quilt! You can find the fabric requirements and more details in our Kick-Off post. To create the cover quilt just like ours, pick up the Prim & Proper Quilt Kit and 2.25 yards of backing fabric.
Who’s Sewing Along – Featured Quilters
We have a fun lineup of quilters who will be sewing along with us in different fabric collections and sharing their work, too. Check out their social media and blogs to see their progress and tips along the way!
Each week, one of the quilters sewing along with us will offer a special prize for all of you sewing along and sharing your progress on Instagram with #PrimAndProperSewAlong. This week’s prize is a signed Farm Girl Vintage Book by Lori Holt (that’s right, she signed it!), a Prim Project Bag and Prim Star Enamel Needle Minder, all by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet. Visit Rika’s Instagram profile (@houseofstitchandstash) for details on how to enter. If you’re sewing along, you’ll have a chance to enter each week.

Please join us back here on The Jolly Jabber on Tuesday, December 29 for the big finish! We’ll put it all together.
