Pillow Talk Pillow Fight – Round 3

Welcome back for round 3! This week our friends Minki Kim and Kristin Esser are joining in our contest inspired by Edyta Sitar’s book, Pillow Talk:  25 Lovely Pillows for Your Home Sweet Home.

In our Pillow Talk Pillow Fight two contenders go head-to-head each week with their creations based on the patterns in the Pillow Talk book. This competition among friends is accompanied by weekly voting, plus a monthly roundup with the chance for prizes and glory for that month’s winner and one lucky voter. At the end, the top two will go up for a final vote. Who will be the Pillow King or Queen? You get to decide!

The participating designers and quilters can sew pillows, mini quilts or other projects inspired by the book. With 25 amazing designs, plus a full alphabet, the possibilities are endless! Check out our announcement post to see all the talented participants!

Without further ado, let’s see what they made!

Kristin Esser’s Kaleidoscope

Geometric shapes play up this multifaceted gem of a design! Kristin Esser sewed up this lovely pillow, and to make quick work of all those shapes, she used the Kaleidoscope Pillow Kit that comes with 80 laser-cut shapes. You can hear more about it on her podcast, Simple. Handmade. Everyday.

Minki Kim’s Rainbow Drops

Minki Kim‘s unique style comes through on the Rainbow Drops Pillow! It’s fashioned in her upcoming collection, Moments for Riley Blake Designs. We think the circle quilting nicely complements the curves of the appliqued petals. Rainbow Drops is one of several applique designs in Edyta Sitar’s Pillow Talk book.

Voting for Your Favorites

Each Thursday we invite you to vote for your favorite pillow project here on the blog. Find us on social with #PillowTalkPillowFight.

Then, we’ll put the winners from Rounds 1-4 to a vote here on the blog on Thursday, February 6, and the winners from Rounds 5-8 will be put to a vote on Thursday, February 27. Glory goes to the winners and we’ll have special prizes for those of you voting, too!

Congratulations to last week’s winner, Elise Baek of Elise and Emelie!

And now you can vote! Please only vote one time. We’ll reveal the results next week.

Pillow Talk Fabric Kits

We offer fabric kits for many of the pillows in the Pillow Talk Book. Each pillow fabric kit includes the Laundry Basket Favorites fabric for the 18″ x 18″ pillow top and binding. You will just need to order the Pillow Talk Book and 1/2 yard separately for backing.

We’ll see you back here next week to see creations by Melissa Corry of Happy Quilting and Sherri Falls of This and That Patterns! In the meantime, if you sew up some Pillow Talk pillows, be sure to share your projects using #PillowTalkBook and tag us (@fatquartershop), @itssewemma and @laundrybasketquilts so we can see and share your work!

Happy Quilting!
