  2. When we go on vacation we take thousands of pictures! You have to make sure you have all the good shots right? Now just to weed out the best for the book? It looks like a difficult job from all the pretties you have posted. My official guess is 2,583. How's that for an educated shot in the dark guess? I would love to win the binding box. The colors are phenomenal and I see a lot of quilts in my future! The quilting bug has just bit me. I also preordered the book and can't wait to get it….

  3. Have been following on Lori's blog and yours. Knowing how many pictures are taken to get that one perfect picture, I would guess about 850 pictures were taken.

  4. I believe Lori said it well..a bajillion….and I'm sure that wasn't even enough.
Can't wait for Quilty Fun to debut. I've never used Auril thread so thanks fo your generosity of the giveaway.

My guess is 208 – because that's the captcha I have to put in to leave this comment. 🙂

  8. I think 2024! Of course, you didn't say how many altogether or how many you could use. Whoever took them did a really beautiful job! Thanks for the giveaway!

  9. I'm gonna have to guess how many I'd take if I had the opportunity to spend a week in such a fabulous place! I LOVE Lori Holt's blog, and I'm sure I'd love to spend a week there! My guess is….. 1,234.

  10. My guess is 2800 pictures…I figured 50 per hour x 8 hrs./day x 7 days! Maybe you worked longer days and took more…anyway, we love seeing them all.

  11. My guess is 2100. Are you looking for an exact number or does the closest number win? The cottage is so beautiful, I could easily take 2100 photos or more in a week! cheryl (at) allison (dot) net

  12. I'm guesstimating that you took 1,265 photos … what a FUN week that had to be! Lori's home and creativity is mind-boggling, you just feel HAPPY seeing her patterns and projects!!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  13. I'll guess 1930. I was drooling looking at all the ones you and Lori have shown. I can't WAIT to get the book and see even more.

Thank you for the chance. 🙂 GREAT photos~

  14. There are so many things I want to make from Lori's book! I think they took 1,437 photo!! Can't wait to hear what the actual number was!

  15. I love digital pics! Knowing how many pics my daughter can take when inspired for a couple of minutes–I can't even guess about a week full of cuteness to capture. OK–I'll say 2998. That would just about fill two of my x-large sim cards.

  16. Well, I commented with a guess that I thought was a lot. But then after reading Bee in My Bonnet's blog and finding out the camera crew was there for a whole week, I deleted my comment and am going to guess again….with a higher number of 2250 photos!

  17. My guess is 1111, sounds like a good number!
Anyway Lori's blog is a favorite, first thing I look at when I get home from work, love it!!
    Karen

  18. My guess is 1082… I too love to take multiple pictures to get just the "right" one. Would love to visit your cottage, it seems so cheery and filled with such collorfu, happy tones.

  19. 365-one for each day of the year!
Would love to win the threads!
Thank you for such beautiful pictures of the cottage and its' contents!

  20. Love the look of your book. Can't wait to get my copy. I am going to guess they took 911 pictures.

Your blog is one of my favorites Lori. Congratulations on the book.

  21. I'll guess 678.
Digital photos have certainly changed how we take pictures. I remember taking film to Europe and being so careful, allotting so many rolls to each country so I wouldn't run out. Tried not to waste a single shot because I had to pay for developing whether I wanted them or not.
Love the ones on the blog. Thanks.

  22. Wow, what great pictures! I totally want her house! I'm guessing you took 720 pictures, she has so many great vignettes 🙂

  23. I'm going to guess 2025. Lori has so many cute and adorable vintagy things to photograph and you can't just take one photo of each thing!

  24. Well it looks like you took lots and lots of photos so I am going to say 2100. The quilts are amazing and Lori so giving and just a sweet gal. It is really exciting to see her designs be published in book form. Great job to all. K-

  25. I'm guessing 450.
LOri is so much fun. I would lOVE her book, since I didn't get a chance to QAL with her row along. But it sure was fun to follow along.

  28. I can hardly wait to get my pre-ordered book that I ordered from you all when Lori first announced the pre-ordering for her book. I wish it was sooner , as I love what she does…..she is so creative. I will be doing some serious projects once it arrives.

  29. Wow! digital cameras now make taking photos such a pleasure since you can take a many as you want. I'm guessing that you took 854 pictures for Lori's new book.

  30. Gosh, if I spent a week at Lori's little cottage, I'd probably break my camera I'd want soooo many photos! I'm guessing 840 photos …

  31. I will guess 5400. If they were ther ALL week that's a lot of photo opportunity! Beautiful quilts. Can't wait for the book!

  32. Oh My, I know I would have been snapping away, I love Lori's Studio!!! my guess is 1273 photots were taken 🙂 Thank You!!!

    vbehymer at gmail

  33. Hi There!!! Wow, There are so many delightful things to photograph in Lori's amazing studio, but since I'm not a photographer, this is going to be a wild guess, I'm going to say you had to have taken in the neighborhood of 1500 pictures. And I don't envy your process of elimination because from what I have seen on Lori's blog during my frequent visits, there is sooooo much eye candy that everyone can enjoy, with her many fun collections of thing that appeal especially to us "mature" folks, but especially for quilters and stitchers! I know I would want a pic of everything, LOL. So anyway, my guess stands at 1500 pictures and that is probably a little low. All the same, good luck to everyone as we sit and drool over the beautiful Binding Box! Big Hugs to all…

  34. Lori's cottage is darling!! Thanks for sharing her wonderful collection of quilting, sewing and vintage items.
    My photo guess is 187
    Thanks!

  35. I deleted my first comment because I thought the photo shoot was in a day… so now I'm going to revise that guess and say that you took 1,004 photos in the shoot!

  36. When I see I have an email from Bee in My Bonnet, I can hardly wait to open it! Lori, I love everything about your little cottage, your patterns, and your fabrics. It's so exciting to see you and your daughter working together doing what you really love! Keep up the great work!!! I guess they took 775 photos.

  37. I would say at least 300 because of the beauty of it all. I would end up with 500 myself because everywhere I look I would see a tiny detail I had left out before..Beautiful is all I can say..Love everything about it…

  38. Well, I'd say at least 1500…so my final answer is 1576. I can't wait to hear what the actual number was 🙂
    smiles, DianeM

  39. I'm guessing about 701 – 100 each day plus 1. Bet the "editor" had troublel picking out which to include in the book… sooooo much eye-candy. Congrats to all!

  40. Loved all the cheery, colorful pics. Love your blog, too. Always a great way to start off the day! I am going to guess 719 pics.

  41. I'm guessing 2332 photos of Lori's cuteness:) She has such fun things and is so talented, what a week you must have had! Thank you for all the great photos, I can't wait for the book to come out!

  42. Hmm one week stay you say … 6 days, one set up an hour x 10 hours day =60 set ups x maybe 60 frames per set up 3,600 … then double that because digital is cheap, and you only get one chance to be in that moment. Okay I say 7,001. Though I notice you didn't say how many cameras were clicking away. If there is another camera that number is going to go through the roof of the cottage!!

  43. I guess 4000 I would have a blast taking photos all day so I'm going real high. The place is amazing.

  44. I am going to guess 1015. The date of your book release. I have preordered and can't wait to get mine. You must have taken at least a zillion. They are fantastic.

  45. 176Great job on the photo shoot…beautiful pictures! Always makes me happy to see pictures of Lori's cottage and studio:) Sew inspiring!! Can't wait to receive my copy of Lori's book!!!

  47. I mean, really, every photographer I know takes 10 photos to the 1 photo he/she keeps!! Since you asked for the number of pictures you all took… I'm going to guess 1225!! It's a huge number but I'm sticking with it!!!

  48. I cannot wait for this book….got a pre-order long time ago! I am drooling over the Binding Box. I will guess 675 photos taken.

  49. Great pictures! I know that it's easy to take a ton of pitures now that we don't have to worry about film! Digital all the way! I have no idea but will guess 843.

  52. I'm going to go with 999…just 'cause someone might have been fussed about having to confess to taking a thousand or more. *Love* the honeybee/hexie quilt!

  53. love this blog! so nice to have such wonderful inspiration! that doesn't just happen overnight, alot of work and love goes into all of it! my vote is 1111!

  54. Not knowing what kind of photographer was behind the lens isn't helping my guess, but the best guess would be 2578. So much colour in those photos!!

  55. My guess is 4,327. I know it seems huge – but too easy with digital over five days! You must have had the best time ever on this photo shoot!

  56. Put me down for 2013 pics..I'm counting the days until I see this NEW edition!!!…My name has been on the list for a LONG time..At least it seems that way…

  57. I will say 300. I love all the wonderful props she has in her home and the clever way she uses them.

    senstrings (at) yahoo (dot) com

    Brenda W

  60. i;m guessing around 5000. That's easy to do when everything you see is so beautiful and captivating! What a nice book this will be! Helen

  61. I know this is not enough, but I vote for 500 shots

of course if I owned all those shots, I would look at them every day

  62. How about 1,578. With such a great location and outstanding quilts it wouldn't surprise me if the number was doubled, but I'll let it stand as is and hope for the best. I already put in a pre-order as soon as Lori told us about her book.

  63. I just love looking at all of Lori's treasures! My best guess is about 10,000 plus photos were taken. I know I probably would have taken that many myself!

  65. I made Lori's quilt as a row by row over a 9 month period and loved it! Recently it was shown in the NW Quilting Expo show here in Oregon. I would guess around 3,000 photos were taken by your talented crew of ladies…

  66. I'm going to guess 864 photos. I love Lori's blog and all her cute ideas. I can't wait to get her new book.

  67. My guess would be about 1300 pictures (without knowing how many quilts were involved in the picture taking). I know it can add up quickly.
Lori's Blog is my favorite Blog to go to and has been an inspiration to me!
