We love a good mix of traditional and modern. An old block in a new setting, traditional quilt patterns made with modern fabrics. Whatever the mix, we can’t get enough! When Modern Churn Dash by Sweet Jane’s Quilting and Design showed up at Fat Quarter Shop, we knew we had to feature it as our Pattern of the Month! Why not share our love of modern and traditional?
These big blocks come together easily and are perfect for featuring your favorite prints. You can attach borders, like in the version on the pattern cover, or assemble the blocks without for a baby quilt/wall hanging. Either way, these big churn dash blocks will look fantastic in your choice of fabric!
Do you like to mix modern and traditional? The Modern Churn Dash Quilt Pattern might be perfect for you! And BONUS, the paper pattern and PDF pattern are 20% off all month long!

This is my favorite block! What a cool quilt!
This is one of the patterns i have always used in teaching quiliting to beginners. It is a very good way to learn about meeting points and about half-square triangles. So, I have a question: Are the HSTs in this version meant to be off-kilter and not look the same from square to square?
I love the small baby size quilt. Could you share the line of fabric that was used!
