Pat Sloan's Girls in the Garden Blog Hop + Giveaway - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Pat Sloan’s Girls in the Garden Blog Hop + Giveaway

We are so excited to kick off Pat Sloan’s Blog Hop introducing her four new Girls in the Garden Patterns! First things first, what is this blog hop all about?

The next couple of days five bloggers you all know and love will be taking Pat’s new patterns and making it their very own.

Some will do different fabrics, some may change specific parts, some may only use specific parts.

What they end up doing? I still don’t have a clue, but I am quite excited to see what their artistic freedom lands on!

Now, it gets even better (well I actually think it’s equally exciting). We are giving away 5 sets of Pat Sloan’s new Girls In The Garden Patterns. All you have to do is comment on this post telling me what your favorite flower is.

Winners will be announced Monday, February 27.

Here is the lineup for the rest of the week, then we will round up back here for the winners!

Tuesday, 2/21:  Michele of Quilting Gallery
Wednesday, 2/22:  Heather of Olive and Ollie
Thursday, 2/23:  Dawn of Spring Water Designs
Friday, 2/24:  Amy of Amy’s Creative Side
Saturday, 2/25:  Heather of {House}of A La Mode Fabric
& visit Pat Sloan each day as she shares HOW she designed “Girls in the Garden.”

Good Luck!

PS. The patterns are almost here and will be available at Fat Quarter Shop by the time the Hop is all said and done!

  1. A favorite flower can be difficult, and it can depend on the time of the year. But my favorite right now is an Iris. I have many different varieties growing in my garden. Thanks for a chance.

  2. I just love the Purple Coneflower. Not only is it beautiful when growing in clumps throughout the flowerbeds, it is fun to stitch and sew!

  3. I have many flower favorites, but the sun flower just smiles at everyone . The brown eyed Susan , and snapdragons with their little mouth, then roses.
Really do love Pat's girls, her way of designing flowers just sits right with me.

  4. I am a HUGE fan girl of Pat's. I have the Summer pattern and kit already, but my favorite flower is a daisy. What else would a 70's girl like! It was the main flower in my wedding! ('74)

  5. It is a challenge to choose just one, but I have to say red geraniums! They were always a part of each summer garden, planted on July 4th. Today, I am living in China and there are many new red flowers for me to include in the summer garden!

  6. Now that I am living in Malaysia my favorite flower has really changed from my US days. I love Birds of Paradise and Orchids, both are prolific and very cheap here. As for the flower patterns you shared, the coneflowers are just gorgeous and I love that one best. (although I like them all!)

  7. Looking forward to seeing all the different interpretations of these patterns. Never met a flower I didn't like, but I'm partial to most any clematis. Thanks!

Thanks to you and Pat for the Giveaway!

  12. I love tulips in the spring, since they chase away winter. I also love mums in the fall, since they're often still blooming when the snow starts to fall, kind of like one last tongue stuck out at the cold (at least in my mind).

  101. Yikes! I only get to pick one! I guess if forced I'd have to say Sweet Peas. My grandmother used to grow them by the handful. One day I was visiting her while they were in full bloom. I was wearing my favorite dress that had a sleeveless plaid top that matched shirt my Dad had and a white pique skirt. My Grandma took straight pins and pinned about a hundred sweet peas to the skirt of the dress. I still remember the smell and how sad I was to have them all taken off when my parents came to pick me up. I still grow sweet peas in my garden every year.

  118. Boy, that's a tough one. I can narrow it down to two. First, the yellow daffodils that prove that spring will come again. Second, the bleeding heart. Just can't resist that one.

  125. Lady slippers are one of my favorites because it's fun to find them hiding along the woods trails as we hike in the spring, then you know the ground is really warming up!

  126. A favorite flower? That's tough – I love them all, usually what's currently in bloom – but I am on a Hydrangea roll lately, we currently have five varieties in our front year garden beds.

  127. My favorite flowers are lilacs and heather. Purple and lots of detail.
Peach roses are hard to beat! Guess I don't have "A" favorite!

  128. I love ALL flowers, blossoms of any kind make me so totally happy. My all time favorite, the sunflower in all it's forms and fashion! LOVE, SWOON, LOVE!

  137. I love all flowers, they are all beautiful, but I must say the Coneflower in the quilt is gorgeous. My favorite season right now is winter, as we are having 100+ temperatures this week in "sunny Australia", and I long for some cold weather. All 4 quilts are divine, love the cardinals too. We do not have cardinals in Australia.

  138. My favorite flower is a rose. I go for the classics.

P.S. I have tried many, many times to leave this message. I despise capchta.

  139. Oh, it is so hard to pick a favorite flower. But, I would say it is whichever one is blooming at the moment. Having said that, I am quite partial to sunflowers.

  141. It is hard to choose just one favorite flower, as I love so many of them. I guess if I HAVE to choose, it would be a wildflower, like the purple phlox that grow under a pine tree right off the patio, or the purple coneflowers that grow all around the patio. Very pretty, take care of themselves, and self-propigate!

  142. I love pansies! they are so happy and always cheerful. But, I have always wanted to do a quilt with cone flowers on it, so this may be my chance!

  144. Thanks so much for the awesome giveaway!! I love Chelsea's Summer Garden, but they are all so cute, would love to win a set of these beautiful patterns.
My all time favorite flowers are Lillies, I grow lots of them in my flower gardens.

  145. Pat did a wonderful job of picking flowers for this project.

I have favorites for all seasons. All spring flowers, but mostly Tulips. Lots of summer flowers, but you can't beat Irises. In the fall, can you call the beautiful foliage as one great big flower? And in winter you can't best a grouping of Poinsetias.
