Night Sky Quilt Pattern by Jaybird Quilts

Jaybird Quilts has done it again. Her quilt patterns never cease to wow us, and the new Night Sky Quilt Pattern is no exception! Julie teamed up with Robert Kaufman to offer a Night Sky Fat Quarter Bundle that works perfectly with the quilt, and today we are GIVING AWAY a quilt kit!

Night Sky assembles to create beautiful monochromatic stars with depth and detail using four shades from the same color family for each block. Using the innovative Sidekick Ruler, these blocks come together really quickly and they are a blast to sew. Have you used this ruler? It is seriously cool!

  33. Honestly, I was completely in the dark about Jaybird designs til you shared these spectacular star blossoms! Positively gorgeous! I'm now asking myself why there are no jeweltone and bright solids in my stash because I've always loved the statement that a black background allows these colors to make!   203. Yes I have made a quilt from a Jaybird Quilts pattern, it was Ballerina and I used the Twirly Bird Quilt fabric kit from the Fat Quarter Shop. It is one of my prettiest quilts and the pattern was so easy to follow.A bonus of the Ballerina pattern is that it gives directions for four sizes of quilt.

  446. Just made my first "Jaybird" project (Rock Candy)using her Sidekick tool. Used Civil War fabrics (muted red, blue, light prints and brown). A bit different arrangement of colors but it turned out very sweet. First time ever stitching diamonds and creating an six-point intersection. Can't wait to make another using scraps from my stash.

I just finished a round quilt from one of her other tutorial posting and am starting Giggles. I love her fresh bold use of color (thanks Kona!) and geometrics. I am hooked on her patterns–have 4 of them so far.

    Cannot wait to get a pattern and try it out…

  498. I was lucky enough to attend a class that Julie Herman taught at the Village Quilter in Mt. Holly, NJ. We made the "Candy Dish" pillow. I was in awe of meeting Julie who actually complimented me on my choice of fabric for the pillow! I usually have such difficulty choosing fabrics for a project that I was so pleased… The class was great and I am now making the Science Fair quilt in Hallowween fabrics!!
