Hi everyone! I’m excited to share what’s on my cutting table right now. With so many wonderful projects and quilt alongs coming up, I’ve been keeping busy and loving every minute of it. Let me take you through the holiday-themed quilts I’m planning to make.
Star of Wonder Mystery Quilt Along
Christmas is coming early this year with the Star of Wonder Quilt Along! I can’t wait for July, when we kick off this festive adventure. Every week, I’ll be right there with you, sewing along in video tutorials on our YouTube channel. Oh, and I’m using the gorgeous Once Upon a Christmas fabric collection by Sweetfire Road for Moda Fabrics!
Holly Jolly Bar Sew Along
September brings more holiday cheer with the Holly Jolly Bar Quilt Along! To celebrate our first ever Christmas Jolly Bar Book, we’ve curated a special sampler quilt that features twelve delightful blocks from the book, plus three additional blocks to create a charming pieced backing.
This project uses Jolly Bars, our favorite 5″ x 10″ precut. Over six weeks, we’ll sew together a quilt that’s sure to become a holiday favorite, with a finished size of 70.5″ x 80″. Get ready to sew, celebrate, and spread the joy of the season! I’ll share all the dates and details when the book arrives in August.
Home Town Holiday Sampler Quilt Along
I’ll be stitching up some nostalgia, this fall, with the Home Town Holiday Sampler Quilt Along. Inspired by the charming cross stitch samplers of yesteryear, this quilt by Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet is a delightful blend of alphabet rows, back stitches, and leafy garlands, all leading to an adorable hometown scene perfect for holiday festivities.
We’ve put together a fantastic quilt kit using Lori’s new Home Town Holiday collection to help you bring this cozy sampler to life. Join us for this heartwarming quilt along from September to December, and create a piece that celebrates the holiday season with a touch of vintage charm and stitchy goodness.
More Festive Fun to Come
Even though it’s summer, I’ve got snowmen on my mind with the Quilted Snowman Quilt! The Quilted Snowman patterns, quilt kit, and cross stitch supplies are coming out in July. The quilt along (and stitch along with the companion cross stitch!) starts early next year, but I’m already getting ready by gathering all the supplies.
Also coming next year is the Vintage Christmas Quilt Along featuring the delightful Vintage Christmas Sampler quilt from Lori’s Vintage Christmas Book, sewn with her new Home Town Holiday Fabric Collection.
Happy Quilting!
I better get back to work, but I’d love to know, what holiday quilts are at the top of your list this year? Leave a comment below. For more details on the quilt alongs, subscribe to the blog or catch a Friday Livestream, as I’ll sharing more on those as they get closer. Also, if you haven’t yet I’d love it if you joined me in my private Facebook group, Kimberly’s Stitch Squad, to see more of what I’m sewing, and to share and learn from other quilters.
Happy Quilting!

While you’re working ahead, I must be working “behind!” For current releases, I’m starting the delightful whale quilt using Tilda’s Creating Memories/summer fabrics & have reserved some Fig Tree Denim & Daisies. But as for holiday projects, I’ll be working on a lap quilt using JW Frisch’s White as Snow, & “Silent Night” (Pattern Basket) using a widely collected stack of low-volume neutrals.
There’s no right or wrong timeline Catherine! Thank you for sharing what you’re doing. It sounds like you’re doing great! 🙂
I just got all my material and pattern in to get ready to work on the wooly wallhanging with Starberry fabrics from Corey Yoder for one of my Christmas projects. So excited to work with those beautiful fabrics and her pattern.
Oh Diane that sounds awesome! Isn’t the Starberry fabric so lovely!
What project are you working on? A pattern of ours or someone else’s?
I reserved the Christmas Jolly Bar book last December. I am so excited to know you are doing a sew-a-long. I am doing your christmas Mystery as well as this Jolly Bar Christmas sampler. What fun!
Oh my gosh Lacey that’s so awesome! We’re so glad you’re excited for it. We’re even more excited to share it! 💗
I have the Vintage Christmas Book I’m so happy there will be a quilt along. I have actually made a beautiful table runner with the Manger candles and tree.
Oh Barabara that sounds so lovely! If you share your makes on social media you should tag us (@fatquartershop) so we can see it!
We’re also so excited for the Vintage Christmas fun coming next year. I’m glad you’ll be sewing along! 🙂
I’ve reserved Let’s Make a Snowman. I’m finishing up How to Build a Scarecrow so it’ll be just in time to start and I am loving Lori Holt appliqué quilts. I’m sure I’ll add another Christmas quilt project to my schedule but haven’t chosen it yet.
Wow Rhonda! You’re a quilting machine!
It sounds like your to-do list is similar to Kimberly’s. I’m so glad you’ve been joining us for the quilt alongs and are looking forward to the upcoming ones as well! 🙂
I love, love, love the Christmas Samper Quilt.
So do we!!! 💗
I’m going to try & keep up with the Christmas Star of Wonder project! I think I will try & do the Jolly Bar QAL as well… but we’ll see. Once I get back to school I am just a weekend quilter, so we’ll just have to see! 🙂
