Modern Basics II is an instant classic. If you are looking for a great book to start your quilting adventure, to build your collection or to cherish as a favorite, look no further. Amy Ellis‘ new release has a strong foundation, boasting creative patterns and stylish quilts.
Color Waves, the eighth quilt in the book, boasts clean lines and geometric blocks. The monochromatic palette and varying shades of blue keep the quilt interesting and alluring. The color waves pull you in, and will result in a gorgeous quilt. In the sample, Natalia and Amy opted for an extra layer of batting, which gives the lightweight fabric a little pop! What a great tip.
In our sewing studios, a recent favorite tool has been the Simplicity Bias Tape Maker. This tool allows us to easily fold and press binding, saving hours and allowing you to create even more quilts from Modern Basics II. Check out this nifty tool and get a copy of Amy’s latest book.
We hope you give Modern Basics II a read and add it to your quilting library! Head to Amy’s blog to see the rest of the participants, there just might be a fun giveaway for you to find out about!
