Kimberly's lil' Emma is growing! - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Kimberly’s lil’ Emma is growing!

Kimberly’s little baby girl is now a cute lil’ red headed toddler.  Growing bigger means outgrowing her crib, so it is time to upgrade to a big girl bed!  And what do you think this means!?  You guessed it… a big girl quilt!  Matching her darling red hair Kimberly picked the absolutely adorable Bliss by Bonnie & Camille! To add the finishing touch to the new bed, our good friend Mette Brown created matching pillow shams…perfect for a little girl’s nap time!

I’m still not really sure how she finds time to do all she does.. owning a quilt shop, raising 3 kids under 3 years old, one on the way, still quilting and cross-stitching!

Kimberly used the Garden Beauty Quilt of the Month by Design Originals.  The book has 11 blocks and finishes into a twin.  Since Emma’s bed is a full size, Kimberly designed four similar blocks and added an extra row to the left of the quilt.  To make the quilt she used the following:

Garden Beauty Quilt Book
Bliss Fat Quarter Bundle
– 2 yards of SKU 55023-15 (background)
– 3 yards of SKU 55026-21 (sashing, inner border and binding)
– 4 yards of SKU 55020-12 (outer border – cut across the length)

The exquisite quilting was done by Carolyn (Nubin) Jensen, one of our very favorite custom quilters! If you would like to contact Nubin about custom quilting, she can be reached by phone at 520-797-0143. Thanks so much, Nubin!

We hope you enjoyed seeing pictures of Emma’s big girl bed.  She absolutely loves it and her mom is so happy with the quilt!  We also thought you might enjoy a picture of Will & Peyton.  They turned one year old yesterday!

  5. I second what my mom said. Oh, and if you need a home for that twin size quilt, I guesss I could take it off your hands. 😉

  6. Your little girls room is so cute with that quilt! And my little girl is about the age of your twins, so I'm totally in awe of the fact that you're running a business while running after these little guys!

  7. What a lucky girl to have such a beautiful new quilt and bed to sleep in! Hopefully the transition to the big girl bed have gone well.

  9. Emma's bedroom is a total dreamland. She must love it! She is so adorable herself that she steals the show in the pictures. Wow, I can't believe it has been a year since the boys were born. I remember reading the announcement that you were expecting twins and guessing if they would be boys or girls. Gosh, it just flies by doesn't it. Just don't blink!!!
