Today Lynne Hagmeier, designer of Kansas Troubles Quilters, is here to celebrate her 10th anniversary with Moda! Can you believe 10 years already!? To celebrate she put together everyone’s absolute favorite pieces into one collection named Kansas Troubles Favorites (clever name I know, but you definitely won’t forget which one it is!) I really cannot imagine how difficult it must have been to narrow the field and select which prints would go into this collection!! Before she gives us a few tidbits I want to give everyone a heads up for her next brand new line coming out in January: Perennials. You can sign up today for notice as soon as it arrives and of course don’t forget to check out the Morning Glory Quilt Kit!
I know everyone (and definitely I ) vastly appreciates the past 10 years of hard work Lynne has put in with Moda and congrats on this milestone! Keep them coming!! 😉
I am honored and thrilled to have been with Moda Fabrics for a decade. Over the years, the main comment from quilt shops is that my fabric sells too well! It’s hard to keep on the shelves for block-of-the-month or Saturday Sampler programs. The shops have found they need to hide KT bolts in the back room. How crazy! The solution? A basics line. KT Favorites is just that – a collection of about a dozen prints in every colorway to have in the Moda warehouse in between market lines. When a quilt shop is trying to kit a project and runs out of red, we’ve got it covered! When a quilter pulls out a quilt kit from 5 years ago and runs out of background? We have one that will blend beautifully.
It was such fun going back through the 30 groups over the last ten years of KT fabrics to choose a selection of basics from small prints to tone-on-tones. In a normal year, I design 3 different collections – two classic groups for spring and fall market and a Christmas line that doesn’t look too Christmas-y. We aren’t able to have all the different KT colors in every fabric line, so Favorites includes everything from our traditional deep reds, navys and greens to a variety of warm tans to rich pumpkins, golds, eggplants and black. Something for everyone!
I hope you enjoy playing with some of my old favorites and would love to hear what your favorite KT fabrics have been to include in future KT Favorites’ collections.

I just love KT fabrics Lynne! They are my most favorite thing in the whole wide world :)!
I've got many of these prints in my stash from the first printing. The first quilt fabric I ever bought was 4 fat quarters from Stitches on the Oregon Trail. My favorite is the print you did long ago with the ivory sunflowers on the dark backgrounds.
Lynne…wish you could see my stash…it screams Kansas Troubles! Love it and love that I can mix & match easily!!
I just love KT fabric. I also really love the ivory sunflowers with the dark backgrounds – lovely!
I love the Butterfly Garden collection. KT designs beautiful fabric, I also love the sunflowers on dark background
That top one , red with vine, is one of my all time favourites. I also loved a fabric that was gold with little flowers that consisted of a central circle with little circles for the petals around it.
Lynne,
I've been quilting for 20+ yrs and your fabrics are always some of my favorites! Don't think I can pick just one fav but Wildflower Serenade I (& II!) might be it … and Butterfly Garden, just wonderful ! Please keep them coming!!
Forgot to add, anything SUNFLOWERS is always great … I'm a former Kansas girl too, now in Texas!
I love the KT fabrics ! They are by far my favorites ! Keep them coming 🙂
