Jolly Housewives Week 1 with Stitching with the Housewives

I am kicking off Week 1 of the Jolly Housewives Stitch-A-Long with Priscilla and Chelsea of The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I’m rested and recharged and ready to share a progress update on my WIP’s. If you haven’t started a stitch, it’s not too late to join!

Jolly Housewives started December 1 and lasts until December 31, but I couldn’t wait, so I started stitching on November 24. This year I am stitching up six of my favorite Stitching with the Housewives Christmas patterns! You can stitch along with me or choose your own patterns from Stitching with the Housewives that you can see here on the Stitching with the Housewives Pattern Page.

To help everyone stay organized, I created a FREE Downloadable December 2020 Calendar which you can use to plan your stitching for the month!

These are the projects I started on for the first week. I’m also sharing my progress each day on Instagram and Facebook as I go along.

  1. Just to let you know…
I use Feedly for my reader and all your blog posts look weird to awful. 🙁 A few lines might be ok and the pics come through but most of the post comes in with a SINGLE letter per each line. Nearly impossible to read.

    1. I’m sorry about that LJ! I’m afraid most blog reader/sender technology seems to be clunky and outdated. They haven’t kept up with the times. We continue to look for a better solution.

  2. Jolly housewives? So only married women are invited? No men or single
Women for December? No purchases from me then! Disappointed as I’ve spent a lot of money at Fat Quarter Shop this year! Oh well! PS-I was asking that family give me fat quarter gift cards, not now!

    1. Hi, Cael! I am so sorry for any confusion. This stitch along, like all of our others, are inclusive for all stitchers. The name “Jolly Housewives” is a fun play on words for Kimberly Jolly’s last name and Stitching with the Housewives’s brand name. Kimberly and many others are stitching along and do not necessarily fit the idea of a “housewife” but still stitch with us! Housewives are also welcome to stitch along. This is more about the spirit of stitching and the holidays.

      1. So will Fat Quartershop host a sew along that’s for men only or single ladies? My point is that your marketing is excluding others, whether intentional or not. We all just want to be included, or said better, not excluded! I actually love all you guys do! But a call for housewives only or association with a company named housewives leaves many of us out! There are thousands of men and single women who shop from you! Maybe next time better marketing decisions can be made which include all of us? Carl

        1. The Housewives are only referring to themselves as such. The name of our company or their company does not signal or call for only housewives to stitch. We state in all of the blogs related to this Stitch Along that we are inviting everyone. Thank you for your feedback.

        2. Carl – Chelsea and Priscilla named themselves “The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch” because they do cross-stitch and the love the TV shows “The Real Housewives of …” It seems to me that you are self-excluding because you either don’t know who the Real Housewives of Cross Stitch are or you have chosen to be offended. Are you suggesting they not collaborate with Chelsea and Priscilla? I’m sure they get a lot of customers from people who watch the Housewives every week.

        3. I think you are misinterpreting the whole idea of the stitch along. Kimberly is very good about trying to promote other artist in the business. Just as she has sew alongs with Lori Holt. This just happens to be The Real Housewives of Crossstitch.

      2. Here’s the deal…it’s identifies the Sal as Jolly (Kimberly Jolly) and the Housewives (Pricilla and Chelsea’s business) sew along. It does NOT identify the permitted participants. So relax and enjoy your hobby…or not.

  3. The offended parties are probably trolls anyway. They clearly don’t know who Chelsea and Priscilla are
