Jelly Snowflake Mystery Quilt Finishing

We’re wrapping up our 4-block Jelly Snowflake Mystery Quilt Sew Along this week with the final pattern and tutorial. If you’ve been following along, you know that each week in July we released one video tutorial with a FREE pattern. We had a lot of fun seeing photos of your Jelly Snowflake Quilts on social media and sewing along with our blogger friends. Read on to see their finished quilts and download the finishing pattern.

Kimberly Jolly sewed her Jelly Snowflake in Deer Christmas by Urban Chiks for Moda Fabrics.

Finishing Jelly Snowflake

Kimberly shows you how to cut and add borders to finish up the quilt in this video. After putting the quilt top together you can quilt and bind as usual. At just 50.5″ squared, this cute Christmas quilt goes together quickly.

Jelly Snowflake Mystery Quilt Sew Along

We had a great group of quilt designers joining us for this event! You can find some Jelly Snowflake inspiration on their blogs with the links below.

Sherri McConnell – A Quilting Life

Sherri sewed her quilt with The Christmas Card by Sweetwater Fabrics for Moda.

Beverly McCullough – Flamingo Toes

Beverly McCullough’s quilt, in Santa Claus Lane by Melissa Mortenson for Riley Blake Designs, makes a lovely Jelly Snowflake.

Chelsi Stratton

The gingham prints in Homegrown Holidays by Deb Strain give Chelsi’s quilt a cozy feel.

Pat Sloan

Pat sewed her Jelly Snowflake with Jolly Season by Abi Hall for Moda Fabrics.

A Jelly Snowflake Bonus

To make this quilt larger, Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts shares the finishing instructions to enlarge the quilt to 70.5″ square with the addition of borders using the scraps. Check out her lovely quilt and find the instructions on Edyta’s blog.

Some of our quilty staffers got in the holiday spirit with their quilts, too.

  1. I love Nancy’s with the country christmas collection. Just wondering how she completed block 1?

  2. Our sewing group, has completed the Jelly Snowflake and now
one of us would like to make it 30 x 30. Could you guide us
on how to decrease the blocks size to do that? Thanks for your
    time and assistance.
