We are excited to announce that the Family Favorites Quilt Book by Sherri McConnell and Chelsi Stratton is out now! The mother-daughter duo behind A Quilting Life Podcast put together a delightful collection of their most beloved quilt blocks, making Family Favorites a must-have book for every quilter’s library.
Sherri and Chelsi took a fun approach to quilt patterns in this book, featuring quilt blocks in four sizes: 12″, 16″, 18″, and 24″. Each of these four block sizes is showcased in a stunning sampler quilt, allowing you to create beautiful quilts that highlight the unique beauty of each block size!
Additionally, Family Favorites includes three charming pillow patterns and three loveable pincushion patterns, perfect for adding a touch of handmade love to every room in your house! Sherri and Chelsi wanted their book to not only be a guide, but an inspiration to quilters of all levels by including some personal touches. You can look forward to a fun Q&A to kick off the book, and they share their favorite notions and tools along the way.
We will be co-hosting a quilt along with Sherri & Chelsi, starting in late October. The Brightly Sampler Quilt uses five of Chelsi’s all-time favorite 12-inch blocks and features their latest fabric collection, Laguna Sunrise. This collection is based on Chelsi’s floral drawings colored in a sunrise palette. Chelsi’s blocks stitched in Laguna Sunrise make a sampler that does indeed shine brightly.
The quilt along will go from October 2024 to August 2025, and it’s perfect for a beginner or intermediate-level quilter. We’ll share the full quilt along schedule and fabric requirements with you as soon as the Brightly Quilt Kits are ready, and we’ll get started after everyone has had a chance to receive their supplies.

As a real novice with a new sewing machine and armed with several jelly rolls I intend to watch your tutorials all weekend and hope your knowledge and skills offer me the courage and education I require to begin my first small quilt for our latest special great grandchild.
