For Keeps Blog Hop with Amy Gibson of Stitchery Dickory Dock

Hello everyone! We are so honored to be a part of the For Keeps blog hop hosted by Amy Gibson of Stitchery Dickory Dock.
This book features quilts that become family heirlooms from the stories they tell. Amy reminds us why we make quilts and the meaning behind each patchwork creation we sew.
This adorable quilt called Scenic Route was inspired by Amy’s family road trip with her family and children to the East Coast.
“The path may be longer, but it can also be paved with priceless memories, and I wouldn’t trade those memories for the world.”  – Amy
We love Instagram! So when we saw that Amy had designed a quilt to perfectly fit our favorite square photos, we instantly fell in love! The Film strip quilt is about giving your favorite photos a tangible, everyday place in our homes.
“We live in a culture of photographs. They fill up our phones … and are scattered across the vast internet galaxy like endless starts in a limitless night sky.” – Amy
Last but definitely not least, our favorite quilt in the book is Stargazer.
“I call this concept ‘Stargazing.’ It’s like lying on our backs, shoulder to shoulder, counting stars or watching clouds, and just being together without distraction.”  – Amy
With the launch of her new book, Amy also started the #forkeepspledge campaign. Visit here for more information. And when you take the pledge, Amy will give you a free download of the “Home is Where the Heart Is” Block pattern.

Thank you so much Amy for inviting us to be a part of this amazing journey, and thank you for everyone for joining us!

  1. I tried to take the pledge but it just gets stuck on please wait. I noticed at the top of the page a place to log in but I can't find a place to register to get a pass work.

  2. It looks like a beautiful book! I'll put it on my wish list. I don't think I need to take the pledge, though, because every quilt I've ever made is for keeps, and has a story and intention behind it. 🙂

  3. Thank you for the For Keeps Pledge. My husband, my sister and brother-in-law died in the last 18 months and I`ve wanted to make quilts to honor them. This is just what I needed to move me along. Thank you.
