  1. Well, I have been wrong when guessing these things every single time.

But could it be a Creative Grids Mini Pineapple trim tool?

    1. I for one am totally excited. This is my first box. I have to not even look at any sites after the 20th cause I am in Canada So my box will be a few days after everyone else.

    2. “Sun and Water” Alice Pineapple Pack by Pineapple Fabrics, maybe? Covers all the clues – batik – “not too fruity”, sunglasses- sun and water, Pineapple- fabric name. I don’t have a clue, lol.

  2. I’m stumped. There isn’t a pineapple template in Lori Holt’s Fruit Salad, the shape doesn’t match Elizabeth Hartman’s pattern or the pineapple in Betty’s Luncheonette, and they’re pretty good at putting exact shapes on the sneak peak. Hmmmmm.

      1. spoke too soon… no pineapple in the fruit bowl. I have to go back to my 1st best guess… pineapple ruler… sunflower fabrics!

  3. The clues don’t help me at all, I hope it has a pineapple ruler, I’ve been wanting to make one of those!

  4. I don’t know, but bright colors and pineapples? Count me in! Psst. It’s allude, not elude. Although…maybe it is elude because I have no idea what the surprise could be! 😃

    1. Oh please tell you are a teacher, that is the first thing I noticed when reading it, and I teach so I blame that

  5. Sirena fabric collection by Jessica Swift for AGF. Not too fruity (pineapples only) and gorgeous bright summery colorways!

    1. Ooh, I love that fabric line, thanks for mentioning it. The CG Mini pineapple ruler would be great too.

  6. AHh, please tell me it is NOT a pineapple pattern. I never have been a pineapple theme fan. If so, I wish there was a reject box before I pay for something that would be a waste of my $$$

    1. I’m with you. I like pineapples as an image – but I really don’t care for the Pineapple Block.

  7. I sure hope it’s yellow like pineapple and not green like in the peek! It’s my first box .. dislike green! Guessing it’s to do with making a pineapple block.

  8. Well! By the picture, could it be a pineapple tool or pattern? Yellow and green fabrics would be exciting, too.

  9. Doesn’t matter what it is, I subscribed because I like the idea of using fabrics, tools, techniques I’ve never done before. Left to my own devices, I pick the same colors, same techniques. If you cancel because you “think” you might not like the pattern or the fabric you are missing the point of the boxes. Because “Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone.”

    1. I agree Stephanie! The box is an opportunity to explore different things you otherwise might not consider. I am looking forward to some kind of tropical theme!

      1. Stephanie you are so right !its good to try new things and at this price, it’s a great way to learn something new. So much negativity today sheesh! I always get something I like in these boxes. Plus I can give what I don’t like as a gift making someone else happy. I’m excited!

      2. I totally agree with you Stephanie. I’ve been getting the boxes since they first started. I think there might have been 2-3 boxes I wasn’t too fond off but I have grown a collection of awesome precuts, tools and notions galore. You can’t always please everyone. This box is the best priced one on the market. Last month we got the ruby red olfa rotary cutter. I’ll always remain a fan 😁

      3. I agree as well Stephanie….with one exception. The pattern that was a couch or chair I didn’t like and will not use!

  10. fingers crossed for Kate Spain’s Bungalow fabric? or a mini pineapple trim tool … well what does it matter … the surprise is fun!!!

  11. I never guess these correct….a pineapple ruler would be sweet! I have never made a pineapple block so that would be fun! 🍍

  12. Possibly the Pineapple Farm Quilt Pattern with bright fabrics to match and the Fruit Salad Sew Simple Shapes Templates by Lori Holt!!

  13. yep has to be something pineapple but just what. Hope I’ve only ordered 1 this time too….oops

  14. Could it be Lori Holt’s fruit salad and Farm Girl vintage fabric ?Whatever it is I will LOVE it!

  15. I just became a member! This will be box #1! Thus, whatever it means I am excited for my surprise box to arrive. I am disappointed at fellow quilter’s remarks about canceling. It clearly stated upon signing up all boxes may not be your liking. I myself plan to donate or pass along something that I won’t use according to my likes. But I know all will be used.

    1. You will always have those comments. I’ve had one I wasn’t that crazy about but it’s in my quilting room! If I find someone I think will enjoy it Iwill pass it along to them… why not? Most of the time I’ve found I either LOVE or at least LIKE the items. I am of the mind of you can always use another “insert favorite sewing notion/s here”, there is no such thing as too many! I plan to Enjoy the excitement until I don’t anymore and stop subscribing, you know?

    2. I was on the fence about cancelling anyway. I have received this for seven or eight months now and have liked less than more and haven’t been truly wild about any of them. I do understand that you can’t please everyone and that it seems like I am in a minority when most people truly seem to be thrilled with what comes in the box. I do not, however, agree that it is about the surprise. I have signed up for the fat quarter box because for me my main goal is building my fabric options.

      1. Karen — There are subscription boxes aimed specifically for just fabric. Maybe one of the those would be more to your liking? I’m a new quilter, so Sew Sampler seemed like the best option for me at a reasonable cost.

  16. I’m not sure, but whatever it is (be it a pineapple ruler, fabric, brightly colored something or another) it’s something different from what I already own so I am really excited for my box!!!

  17. I’m guessing it might be Orchard fabric by April Rosenthal !? Whatever it is, I know we will LOVE it!!

  18. Must be something with pineapple.
I am kind of tired of all the kitzy stuff.
Maybe next month some batik or pretty floral, .I am not a fan of tiny little prints.

  19. I LUV my Sew Sampler box surprises! The Debbie Downers that post negativity on here stick out like sore thumbs and sound childish. My guess is pineapple block something or other and I can’t wait! Maybe the sunglasses are the green color value glasses.

    1. They’ve just posted the new Kona color of the year…it’s called Splash, and is a pretty and bright aqua

  20. I am excited to receive anything in spring colors! My name is Debbie and I am defiantly not a Downer! Bee ☺

    1. That would be great, I just bought some fat quarters of it at a local quilt shop. I could do Sunnyside up and a pineapple ruler with a pattern.

    2. That would be great, I just bought some fat quarters of it at a local quilt shop. I could do Sunnyside up and a pineapple ruler with a pattern.

  21. I love the sew sampler surprises It’s like Christmas once every month. I just gave my Mom a pineapple ruler she has always wanted to make a spring quilt for her bed out of the pineapple block, she is almost finished and loves the ruler. So hoping it’s a pineapple ruler for myself.

  22. I don’t have a clue but I, like a previous comment will love it! I really like the surprise of it and FQS has always given me items that I may not have picked or thought of. It gets you out of your comfort zone and opens up new ideas. Don’t stop doing what you do!

  23. I am new to receiving sew boxes so I am stumped but my guess is a small jelly roll with a fruit pattern.

  24. Looking through the patterns I’m going to say its Pineapple Party Quilt by Swirly Girls designs,,,very bright colors almost looks shiny, but I have never gotten these right and love my boxes because I love surprises

  25. I’m guessing the 3 oz. Pineapple Grove Flatter spray and maybe some of Kate Spains Bungalow fabric. The Pineapple Party Pattern by Swirly Girls would be fun too! 🙂

  26. Betty’s Lunchonette fabric has pineapples in it. Or Creative Grids mini-pineapple template.

  27. The pineapple is a symbol of welcome and hospitality. If the February box contains anything dealing with a pineapple I’ll be very happy. It would be nice to make a small wall hanging and nail it somewhere close to my front door.

  28. I have 3 pineapple projects going currently, and I have both rulers. I’m really hoping for something bright and fun, without pineapples. Of course, the fabric could be used for other things.

  29. Ive been very disappointed with the fabrics that were sent all last year with an exception of a couple of mo.s.So, im hoping for better fabric. not looking forward to a pineapple template.Elizabeth Hartman pattern would be nice.

  30. I hope it’s a pineapple ruler and some funshine fabric to make a mini pineapple quilt. But whatever it is I LOVE receiving my monthly Sew Sampler box!

  31. I really enjoyed reading all of your comments and guesses. I love the element of surprise and really look forward to this each month. Like so many of you, I love challenging myself with new techniques that I would not normally pick for myself. If by some chance you do not like the items in your box, perhaps donating the item to your local sewing circle or church would make it all worth it. I’m sure someone will appreciate it. Thanks FQS…. LOVE this community!

  32. This will be my first box too. So looking forward to getting a surprise. Since I don’t know what has “gone before” I cannot even hazard a guess.

  33. I’m thinking that it will be the kona color of the year Splash, like the strip behind the pineapple and maybe a pineapple ruler and other little themed things

  34. It’s so interesting to read everyone’s guesses…I have no idea, but I know I’ll enjoy it, based on past boxes!

  35. Ready for it. I always enjoy my blue box.
Thank you to Kimberly for encouraging us to make things our way. So so refreshing!!

  36. Today I showed my boxes from Dec. and Jan. to my quilt guild most of whom had never heard of this before. The ladies were excited to see my surprizes and are going to sign up for them!

  37. Is it the Sunshine pin set from Just Another Button Company, Lemon Meringue Quilt Pattern by Coriander Quilts, and something from Corey Yoder’s Sunnyside Up collection?

  38. Got my February Sew Sampler Box and I love it. Can’t wait to use the paper that is in it. Can’t say what kind of paper because I would be giving away too much information. Love every thing in it.

  39. Sunglasses, fruity, pineapple… Maybe a beach bag/tote pattern with some fun fabric? Pineapple ruler? Can’t wait to get it in the mail!

  40. All I’ve gotten today is “label created, not yet in system” from the USPS when I tried to track my package. First email saying my order has shipped was yesterday.

  41. This is so much fun but it is so dangerous! When I see your guesses about possible fabrics I looked them up and immediately think I have to have them! Kate Spain’s new Christmas collection and anything Kaffe Clasics are
my favorites but I really hope it is Splash! Love my FQS Sew Sampler!

  42. Hoping yellow fabric & a pineapple Quilt pattern and or pineapple quilt ruler? Fingers crossed!

  43. Got mine today, better than you can imagine…I love it! Goodies and useful things…my first box, so glad I signed up for this!

  44. My Sew Sampler box came today! I LOVE it!!!!
Thank you for such a great package! I will be
    learning something new from it!

  45. How about SUN prints by Alison GLASS? Wouldn’t mind a Creative Grids Pineapple Ruler. It’s one of the few I don’t have. 😉

  46. This will be my very first box so I am so anxious to get it. I know I will love it all. I was late in signing up so missed the first box that had so many things in it I would have loved.

  47. Just received my sampler box today. No spoiler from me, just another happy sewist. Thank you!

  48. I usually love my Sew Sampler Box, really I do. But this fabric, no thank you. The only thing That I know I will use this month is the barn block pattern. Anyone want my charm packs and foundation paper? I don’t want them to go to waste so I will drop in the mail and even pay for the cost of shipping.

    1. I missed out on this one, though I called and emailed I was told they were sold out, so if you really want to part with it, I’ll be happy to buy it from you. I’m in Tucson, Arizona. Where are you? I’m in the stitch squared, and face book.

  49. Like the seam ripper and ruler. I do have lots and lots of small rulers seems to kinda repeat the rulers. I have boxed up all the fabric and will donate to senior center quilters. May try the pineapple just to see how it works.

  50. Hi Jeannie,
This is my very first sew sampler box. I’m a new quilter with my 12 year old daughter (we just started in November when we got a sewing machine). We’d love to have the extra fabric if you’re willing to give it away. My daughter saw the fabrics, and wanted us to make a quilt for her room. Thank you
    8832 NE 144TH ST, Kirkland Wa 98034

    1. Oh my gosh I’m glad you can use it. I will drop it in the mail tomorrow. Happy quilting!
      Jeannie

  51. Got my box today! Don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t gotten it yet. Just wanted to let y’all know …love it!

    1. Jeannie,
Thank you so much. I was going to leave my email (I don’t mind paying shipping), but it kept saying my comment was spam. If you wanted to provide pay pal information in the package, I’ll reimburse you

  52. I just love getting this box every month! However, I’m disappointed with this month. Just not my style… but it brings me happiness to see others so happy with it!

  53. Received my box today. The fabric will become a gift for someone. I might use the tool. The rest was OK – I will gift those items to others.

  54. Thrilled with the box. Different fabric style, block, and technique for me, so I’ll learn a lot of new things this month. Thanks!

  55. My box was delivered today. I love the box. I have made the pineapple pattern before. Really makes a beautiful quilt. Thank you, it’s a great kit.

  56. BEST BOX EVER !!! Love the pattern, can’t wait to try it, I’ve never made the pineapple pattern. Love the charm SQUARES, yes more than one…and the tool is sooooo handy. THANK YOU!

  57. Loved my 1st box from February! Thanks so much. Love the paper piece ruler, I have the one without the edge to turn the paper over,I had to find a straight edge to do that part so I was thrilled to get the new PPort ruler. Love bright fabrics for spring. Going do do wallhanging to hang on the wall in the Spring other use for a table topper!
