  1. I don't have a favorite because I don't have them. But I've been really wanting the Beginners Guide to Free Motion Quilting and Sweet Celebrations.

  2. My current favorite is Rayna Gillman's "Create Your Own Free-Form Quilts." Not only is it eye-candy, she addresses the need to sometimes just sit down and sew mindlessly, rather than feeling like you have to make a masterpiece every time you enter your sewing room. Definitely takes the pressure off. I'm doing to try to do more of that this year. 🙂

  3. (oh — I don't have any of the ones listed above so I don't know which of those would be my favorite. I'd love to see the Beginner's Guide, though)

  4. I haven't really quilted before and I don't have any quilting books, so I don't have a favorite yet. I'm really wanting to make a cathedral quilt this year so maybe I'll catch the quilting bug.

  194. Wow what a great opportunity, thanks! But I have to be honest: I love learning so my favorite book would be the one I am working with at the time. The way I work it is if I have learned something valuable from each book I have then I keep it for 6 months to make sure I have it down right and then it goes to my library if it is something that someone else would like to learn then after 6 months I will loan it to that person. For all other books that I really did not get the concept or like what I did I will pass it onto our Kids group that are learning to quilt and they get to add it to their library. So it is a win win for more than just me. Believe it or not I have been doing this for years and I have never had a book not come back to me that I have loaned out. Right now I am into FMQ and would love to win any of those books. Have a great day

I think I will have to go with the first quilting book I ever bought: It's Okay If You Sit On My Quilt by Mary Ellen Hopkins.

I'm sure it's old-fashioned and terribly "unModern", but it started me off with two of the first gift quilts I ever made, and has informed my quilting mentality for the last five years.

    Plus, the name is adorable.

There is a color photo of each block and alternate ways to make each block look by changing the location of the light, medium, and dark fabric. Easy to read cutting chart. I had the spine cut off and a spiral insert so I can lay my book flat open or stand up on my book holder. Thank you for the opportunity to win more new books.
