Take a ride on a vintage bicycle with Barbara Jones of Quilt Soup’s new collection, Cruzin’. Cruzin’ is filled with retro prints and colors and just the right amount of vintage charm. Strap on your helmet and go for a ride!
Q: To what or whom would you dedicate this collection, or what inspired this collection?
A:I would dedicate this collection to all of those who would like to be active and love the look and feel of retro bikes. You know, the ones that you sat upright on without having to shift gears at all. About all you had to do to them was clip some playing cards onto the spokes with clothesline pins, wrap the handle grips with crepe paper and you were set to ride in the fourth of July parade.
Q: What is your favorite project using this collection?
A:So far it is our Lucky Daisies table runner pattern, but we can’t wait to see what else is made with Cruzin!
Q:If you could live in a movie, what movie would it be?
A:Inception!
Q:What do you get nostalgic over?
A:Simpler times when you knew your neighbors, when everyone looked out for everyone else, when white laundry was always bleached and sometimes “blue-d” and hung outside to dry in the sun. More honest times when people didn’t pad their resumes, when people had the communication skills to disagree affably and to resolve conflict like adults.
Q:What is your favorite TV show of all time?
A:Probably American Bandstand although I like Perry Mason a lot too.
Q:If you could be a modern day fictional character, who would you be?
A:The female version of Captain Jack Sparrow of the Black Pearl.
