Q: What was the first seed that grew into the Shasta collection?
A:Our shop was featured in American Patchwork and Quilting’s Quilt Sampler Magazine in 2006. The quilt we designed, called Daisy Day, was our inspiration and starting point for our Shasta collection.
Q: If your collection had a soundtrack what would be on the list?
A:With A Little Help From My Friends – The Beatles
Q: What single print/SKU in the collection is your favorite?
A:Jeanne – The Daisy Baskets on the brown background!
Shelley – I love the red and green daisy toss on the brown background, and we both LOVE the polka dots!
Q:What is your favorite project you have made using this collection?
A:We will be starting projects very very soon! We can show you our Variety Show pattern that we digitally re-colored using Shasta and the free downloadable pattern we designed for Clothworks.
Q:If this collection had a scent to it, what would it be?
A:Jeanne – Fresh willow. Back in my basket weaving days I loved the earthy scent of the willow I worked with!
Shelley – Why, like a fresh Shasta Daisy of course!
Q:Can you give us a sneak-peek of your next fabric collection?
A:Well, we would love to show you but we’re just working on it now, and haven’t submitted it to Clothworks yet! But we can tell you this, it will have the same earthy coloring you’ve seen us use in our books – Tis’ the Season and Urban Country Quilts (Martingale). There will definitely be polka dots, and more daisies! And we’re both super excited about this next collection!
Q:If you had a mascot, what animal would it be?
A:Jeanne – A soft cuddly miniature brown bear. Is there such a thing?
Shelley – A crow? Because I’m attracted to shiny, blingy things!!
Q:Who is your favorite celebrity?
A:This one was such a hard question for us to answer because neither of us actually watches a whole lot of TV….we sew!
Q:If we were making a movie about your life, who would you want to play you?
A:Jeanne – Scarlett Johansson because she has great hair and she’s young!
Shelley – Really? My life is not that interesting!?
Q:Who is your favorite fabric designer not including yourself?
A:Both of us really admire Terri Degenkolb of Whimsicals. Sandy Gervais is another amazing and talented designer. Heather Mulder Peterson has fabulous books, patterns and fabric! There are so many talented designers in this industry it’s difficult to give credit where it’s due!

What a lovely quilt. I downloaded the pattern right away. And that fabric is great. I don't usually like dark prints but love these.
