Hi everyone! The dynamic duo is back again on the Jolly Jabber! Barb and Mary of Me and My Sister Designs are here to show off their brand new LOL collection for Moda Fabrics. As you can tell by the name, this collection will definitely bring a smile to your face. Here is a quick recap video on the collection, enjoy!

It’s great to be visiting the Fat Quarter Shop again! We are so excited that our newest fabric group for Moda has shipped to the stores. I always hate the wait! It’s kind of like waiting for Christmas to come when we were kids.

Q: What inspired you to design the LOL collection?
A: This collection has some slightly new colors for us. They’re still bright and vibrant but the greens are a little “acid” and the purples are a little “deeper”. We like changing things up a bit!
Some of the prints in this group were from vintage fabrics that I’ve been collecting over the years, so it’s a bit more grown up … but we still tried to keep our signature whimsical style. Did you know that all the prints and colors in LOL are named after texting terms? ALM (All My Love) Pink and AYK (Are You Kidding) Green are my favorites!
We have some fun new patterns to go along with the collection called Text Me and Reply All. Text Me is my (Barb) personal favorite! I think it’s because it’s made using fat quarters, my favorite precut. Did you notice the texting terms spilling over into the pattern names too? Mary’s favorite is Reply All since she likes fat eighths.
Q: What’s the best part about being a designer?
A: One of the best parts about being a designer is that we get to pick which prints and colors we like best and order heavily!

Q: Which is your favorite print from the LOL collection?
A: This print is one of our favorites and we love it in every color!

To make this stripe I actually cut strips of paper and glued them onto another sheet of paper. The purple dots were also hand cut. No paper punch dots for us!
With every fabric group we do there is always a free pattern. The free pattern this time is XOXO. Surprise … another texting term. You can download the FREE pattern on our website. 
We also did a quick video tutorial on how to do a stitch n’ flip for piecing these quilt blocks.

  12. I have seen this bright and fun fabric and think it is just great. I don't have a favorite color but love the whole collection. I do like the patterns (saw them on the Fat Quarter Shop) and thought they were awesome!
