Designer Tidbits: Ann Kelle, GIVEAWAY CLOSED

Welcome to the bright and colorful world of Ann Kelle! This year, Kelle debuted a fabulous new version of Jingle that is perfect for everyone who wants to add a splash of color to their Christmas decor. Today we are welcoming Kelle to chat with us about Jingle AND offering up a giveaway. Keep reading for more!

Q: Where did you find your original inspiration for this collection?
A:My new Jingle designs came from my ongoing love of Christmas.

Q: What was your โ€œahaโ€ moment in designing this collection?
A:My “aha” moment was when I added hats to my owls and birdies. They’re Santa’s little helpers.

Q: How do you decorate your home for Christmas?
A:I have a white Christmas tree, with colorful ornaments that are pops of color like pink, mint and yellow. I actually made my own Christmas bulbs this past year.

Q:How do you plan to decorate using Jingle this Christmas?
A:I’m not sure about home decorations, I’m a slow home decorator. But, I would really like for my family to have lounge pants made out of Jingle for Christmas morning.

Q:What is your favorite Christmas tradition?
A:Christmas breakfast after opening presents!

Q:When designing a new collection, how does your surroundings affect your direction?
A:I like to have a visually calm, peaceful environment while designing.

Q:What is your favorite print in the collection?
A:Hmm . . . the wreaths. But, I also think Santa is funny. It looks like he has his PJs on!

Q:Where do you find the inspiration for your illustrations? Are they usually people you know or figures you dream up?
A:I find inspiration from all around, but typically things from my childhood.

Q:What is the most challenging part of the design process?
A:Deciding on the final colors . . . I usually want to have a million-and-one color ways.

Q:Your use of color is very fresh and unique. Tell us about your approach to color, what colors you cling to and what colors you shy away from.
A:I love color! Typically I try to put pink in all my designs. These days I’m big fan of the color mint. One of the new color ways we’re introducing in the Jingle prints is the “vintage” color way, which includes a mint-ish color.

And as a special treat, we are giving away a fat quarter bundle of Jingle! For a chance to win, take a look at the full Jingle collection and let us know which print is your favorite! A winner will be chosen on July 3, 2013. Good luck!

UPDATE! Shawn, who loves the Cobalt Festive Owls, is our lucky winner! We have sent you an email to claim your prize! Thanks for playing, everyone!
