Designer Select: Aneela Hoey

Sew Stitchy by Aneela Hoey is one of those collections that you just can’t pass up. The sweet sewing and embroidery motifs are perfect for almost any project. Aneela chose 12 prints and 3 coordinating Bella solids to create her very own Designer Select Bundle featuring Sew Stitchy and she is here today to chat about it!

Q: What inspired you to pick the colors and designs in your Designer Select Fat Quarter Bundle?
A: I have a mini quilt hanging in my kitchen of a rain cloud made up from hexagons that I made a couple of years ago. I really love the colour combination of the hexagons so I used that as my starting point for this collection. It is quite apt now that I think about it as the collection has a hexagon print too! The colours in the select bundle are simply my favourites from the group that work best together.

Q: What are 3 words you would choose to describe this collection, not including any of the fabric designs!
A: Stitchy, intricate, multi-directional

2 Truths and a Lie
1.The prints were inspired by the illustrations I did for my book ‘Little Stitches‘.
2. I tossed my pins to draw them for a realistic look in my Pins print.
3.The fabric Sew Stitchy is printed on is much softer than any of my previous lines.

One of the 3 statements is false. Comment on this post telling me which statement you think is false. Answer correctly and you have a chance to win Aneela Hoey’s Designer Select Fat Quarter Bundle!

You have exactly one week from the today, 9/12/12.
Good Luck!

  1. I think number 3 is false. I toss pins once in a while, just not on purpose. Ever drop a magnetic pin holder? The pins scatter so nicely.

  2. This one is hard! I follow Aneela's blog so I know 1 is true. I ordered the pin prints in all colors but haven't received them yet, so I'm guessing 3. Thanks and I love all her lines!

  3. I believe it's 3 since i can totally see the inspiration from the book and tossing the pins sounds like something I would do! And from what I've seen, Moda fabric is already super soft and lovely…therefore it must be 3!

  4. I'm guessing #3 is false – I think all of her fabrics are wonderfully soft. Thanks for a chance at this fabulous fabric!

  5. I guess it would be number 1 .. I think its creative to throw the pins for a realistic look.. and I wouldnt imagine she would short change herself by #3 which I suspect and look forward to being true! Love her stuff!

  6. I think that false is #3. After looking at her fabrics and seeing a few of the pages from her book, I think the first two would be true. And Moda fabric is soft.
What a beautiful color palette- would go perfectly to make a snugglie quilt for my basement sewing room which is pale blue and chilly!

  7. I think #3 is false because all Moda fabrics feel deliciously soft.

  8. I am guessing #2 is false because I can't imagine Annela tossing pins to get that print right. I just adore this whole line and I am crossing my fingers that I get to win this one!

  9. I think number 2 is false. I can't imagine tossing pins, maybe spilling them on the floor but not tossing them.
Love the new line, it is really lovely!

  10. OMG this is exactly what I have been hoping to find for my new sewing room. Wow, just love this fabric. I will guess that #2 is not correct.

  11. number 3 sounds suspect. Thanks for the chance of the giveaway. Oh, I got rave reviews on my last quilt with Aneela's fabric — would love to get my hands on this newest bundle!!

  12. I'm going with number 3 – the other fabrics I have from Aneela's lines are already so soft, I can't imagine anything softer! 😉 Thanks for the chance!

  13. I am guessing number 2. I love reading Aneela's blog and have a lot of her fabric. It would be awesome to win this bundle!
