Classic & Vintage: Hunter Star

Happy Friday Quilters! We are back with another pattern in our Classic & Vintage series: Hunter’s Star! For those who are unfamiliar with our Classic & Vintage series, we focus on traditional quilt blocks and add a modern twist!

The Hunter’s Star Quilt is a classic pattern that is traditionally made with paper piecing. However we created a whole new method to make this block with ease! Kimberly made her Hunter’s Star quilt using Ombre Confetti Metallic by V & Co. for Moda Fabric. The traditional piecing of the quilt makes for gorgeous blocks and quilts of all sizes!

The complete Hunter’s Star pattern  with four different size options is available for purchase at fatquartershop.com. To make a quilt just like ours, we have a Hunter’s Star quilt kit and separate backing set available!

If you’re ready to sew along with us, grab  your supplies, download your FREE block pattern and watch Kimberly’s video tutorial for a step-by-step guide on making your block!

We are very fortunate to have 21 amazing bloggers quilting along with us! Check out their takes on the Hunter’s Star blocks:

  1. The Hunter’s Star quilt has always been one of my favorites. I love the fabrics you used in yours and it is fun to see what others have made in your QAL. Thanks for the great tutorial too!
