Do you who created the jelly roll race aka: lasagna quilt made from a jelly roll?

From what we can tell Jelly Roll races and the Lasagna Quilt Patterns are something that’s been around for a while and unfortunately we aren’t sure who started it.
If someone else knows then maybe they can comment it here, but from what we can tell it isn’t credited to one designer.
Okay, i bought a jelly roll last year and never took the leap… today’s the day I become a quilter… wish me luck.
