Interest in Civil War reproduction fabrics seems to be ever-growing, and history certainly comes to life in the spectacular Civil War Chronicles Block of the Month program. Designed by Homestead Hearth, this program will captivate Civil War reproduction fabric enthusiasts in 43 different designs. The 108″ squared quilt is designed for the intermediate to advanced quilter.
The Civil War Chronicles quilt features twelve blocks telling the stories of twelve women who encountered numerous struggles on the homefront while their husbands were away. Each pattern includes historical background plus biographies of the generals’ wives. You will be inspired, educated and enriched with knowledge which will link you to the past – an endearing part of what quilting is all about!
As a member, you will receive a triple-proofed quilt pattern and if you have any questions we are more than willing to hear from you and help! We also include more fabric than the requirement states just in case you have a little boo-boo while cutting. Along with quick piecing tricks we add a fabric color card and a finished photo of the block so you know what the goal is you are trying to reach. We are eager to participate in this program with you whether you’re a history buff or just love the reproduction fabrics. Come join us in this dramatic journey through time!
Homestead Hearth has made some program enhancements from last year’s Civil War Tribute BOM. They include:
– Vivian Ritter, an experienced technical writer, made clear & accurate instructions to ensure successful results.
– Direct and simplified patterns. Layouts were improved and months are coded by color for easy identification.
– Each block has been tested by at least two quilt experts. (Fat Quarter Shop tests the patterns additionally to this.)
– Finished sizes- which allow quilters to utilize piecing products such as Thangles or Triangles on a Rolll.
Our Civil War Chronicles BOM program runs from January 2011 to December 2011 and includes the fabrics and pattern needed to complete the quilt top and binding. A backing set is also available separately.
