Blog Tour: Geared For Guys

Hey everyone!

We are your next stop on Emily Herrick’s Geared for Guys book blog tour, and are happy to be chatting it up!

I guess we should slip into our “guy” cap (the 13- year-old faded baseball cap that smells like sweat and grass) and cut to the chase! After all, someone’s going to get to win their own free copy of the book and I know you’re hankering to get to those details. 🙂

First up, guys and quilts! Emily is 100% on the spot with this – every day I get calls and e-mails to the shop asking for boy stuff. Every time a really good boy-esque group comes along, there is tons of buzz! And now patterns and fabrics for older guys too? Even farther and fewer! So thanks Emily, for ensuring that I’ll have quilts to make for my boys they will actually be excited about in years to come!

Moving onto originality! Bonus, bonus, bonus – each quilt in this book is interesting and surprising. Classic and contemporary enthusiasts alike can dig in – I feel drawn to both looks! It is really hard for me to choose a favorite in here – “Ivy League”, “Odd Ball”, “High Voltage”, “Helix” – no, don’t make me choose!

“Ivy League”
“Odd Ball”

I definitely know a few boys that would gravitate toward the awesome appliqué in “Gamer” though!

“Gamer” sneak peek

At the end of the book, she even shares fun quilting ideas and tips for your manly quilts. Cuz, you know, quilted daisies wouldn’t really fit on the “Odd Ball” applique!

Well I know you are all waiting to hear what kind of matrix you have to pass to have the opportunity to win your very own copy of the Geared for Guys Quilt Book! We will just keep it short and sweet and all you need to do is leave a comment in the Rafflecopter below answering the following question: What male in your life do you want to make quilt for?

Good luck and make sure you stop by Jaybird Quilts tomorrow for Day 3 of the Tour!
