Art Gallery Color Master Contest - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Art Gallery Color Master Contest

Recently at Fat Quarter Shop, we’ve been seeing tons of color….in the Art Gallery Fabric Color Master boxes that is! Art Gallery has come out with gorgeous, monochromatic collections featuring 10 Fat Quarter or Half Yard precuts! Every box is unique and includes randomly selected fat quarter cuts from a mix of Art Gallery collections in a printed designer box.

We are sew in love with this collection that we have decided  to do a CONTEST! We want to see your creativity with the Art Gallery Color Masters and would like you to make a project featuring one of the color masters (can be half yard or fat quarter). The project can be anything you’d like: quilt, tablerunner, bag or anything else you come up with! We are also providing the Plenum Quilt Pattern that Art Gallery made especially for the Color Master, which you are welcome to use as a part of or as your project.

How to Participate

ANYONE is eligible to participate in this challenge! All you need is a Color Master from Art Gallery Fabrics and you’re ready to go! The challenge will run from today, February 6, 2018, to Wednesday, March 14, 2018. The challenge will have you make any project using the fabrics in the Color Master!

You will need to have your project made, photographed and uploaded to this Dropbox by noon (12PM) CST on Tuesday, March 14 to be eligible to participate. The link will expire at 12PM CST on Tuesday, March 14. Please label your file with your name and email address (ex. name_emailaddress@emaildomain.com)

This will be a judged challenge. We will be looking for technique and creativity in the project when judging the projects. We will narrow it down to our top 10 choices and then let you decide which projects you like the best! The most important thing is to have fun and let your creativity shine through your project! Also, be sure to share your Color Master Contest projects on Instagram using the hashtag #ColorMasterContest so we can see and share your work!

  1. You may want to edit the post! The end date is obviously the wrong year early in the post; it’s correct at the end…some ppl might not catch it…

  2. For a project do I need to use all fabrics from a color scheme of the color master box? Also, I have a few knit fabrics, can I use those too or it’s just for quilting fabrics?

    1. Hi Anna, you can use fabrics other than what is in the box. We just ask the fabrics primarily be from the Color Master box, but we don’t want to limit your creativity!

  3. Can I enter just a fully pieced quilt top? I don’t think it will be quilted by the deadline.

  4. So glad to see that deadline was extended – I wanted to do it but was late, so now I just purchased few things and will wait eagerly for it to come, so I can make something for this contest – yay! Thank you!

  5. I’m so disappointed to be hearing of this for the first time at the end of the day on March 5; there simply isn’t time to order and receive the fabric, make, quilt, and bind this in 8 days!

    1. That’s what I thought as well, Cynthia, but I’m guessing you and I didn’t catch the first email.
