2015 Summer Book Club: Winter Wonderland

Ho Ho Ho! Happy Summer everyone! It’s never too early to start your Christmas projects. That’s why we picked Winter Wonderland by Sherri Falls as one of our top picks for the Summer Book Club. Not only will this book bring some Christmas cheer to your hot Summer days, it’s also jam packed with adorable Christmas and holiday quilts (including a tree skirt pattern).

Here’s a quick peek at what you can expect from this Christmas-tastic book.

And, the best part is that we are hosting a Winter Wonderland Sew Along (or as we like to call it, #verysherrichristmas) starting this Saturday, August 1st, on the blog! We will be sewing the Sleigh Bell Sampler from the book, so for more information, please visit our blog page here

Our quilty staff Deborah sewed up some of her favorite blocks from the sampler with the Santa Claus collection to create this joyful wall hanging! Cute right?

Now for our 2015 BIG BOOK GIVEAWAY! We are giving away a stash of our favorite books and some surprise prizes to one lucky winner. For a chance to win, here is how to enter…

  1. I already have Under the Mistletoe and Holly's Tree Farm and I love love love them both. I also spotted Cold Spell Batiks by Laundry Basket Quilts, Evergreen by BasicGrey and Jingle by Kate Spain. Too many, though to pick a favorite for my favorite holiday.

  2. Holly's Tree Farm by Sweetwater is on my list as is Mistletoe Lane and Merry Matryoshka. Can't have just one!

  3. I really love Evergreen by Basic Grey and I must have the Grunge fabrics that go with it! I also really like Joy & Wonder by Cori Dantini,
Kim Diehl's Winter Blessings and Cold Spell Prints and Batiks by Laundry Basket Quilts. I can't believ Christmas is less than 5 months away.

  4. It is so hard to pick just one. I really love all of Kate Spain's Christmas Fabrics and have Jingle on my wishlist. Close second would be Holly's Tree Farm, in part because of the cute quilt in Winter Wonderland.

  5. I am smitten with Santa Express. The reindeer faces are adorable and I love the colors. I loved working with Little Joys and plan to make a lap quilt to go with my wallhanging but may have to add Santa Express to my shopping list!

  6. I like the Berries and Blooms collections, but I also like Cold Spell because I love blue. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  7. So hard to choose my favorite collection out of all the wonderful fabrics. I have three that I really like: Joyeux Noel, Christmas Whimsy and Frosty Forest.

  8. I'm smiiten with Frolic in the snow. However, there are so many adorable fabrics to choose from. My favorite color is blue so of course I have to order Cold Spell, especially the Batiks.

  9. The Hoffman Alchemy – Ice Silver has definitely caught my eye. I love shimmery quilts and projects hanging everywhere over the Christmas holidays.

  10. I love all Christmas fabric, so it is a hard decision to make. I am smitten with the Berries and Blooms collection. Thanks!

Please click on the delaineelliott above for my email link.

  11. The Evergreen collection appeals to my traditional streak. The Joyeux Noel satisfies my love of French General. And the Frosty Forest would make my son with a raccoon obsession very happy. So many lovelies from which to choose!

  12. Loooove many of the fabrics there…but in Looove with the "Powder Frolic in the Snow" Flannel!!! Fat Quarter Bundle would be Awesome!!!
Thanks for chance to win your Give-a-way too! 🙂

  13. Do I have to pick just one? I like several that are quite different from one another — Festive Forest by Tamara Kate, Sweetwater's Holly's Tree Farm, Scandi Christmas, Under the Mistletoe by 3 Sisters, and the sweet Winter Wonderland by Heather Rosas. I admit to already having some Holly's Tree Farm in my stash. 🙂

  14. I'm loving Cardinal Berries and Blooms from Hoffman Fabrics. The colours are so rich!

  15. I am completely smitten with Antique Holiday Flourish 10 inch Squares
Robert Kaufman Fabrics. The black and golds are so classy and would match my family room décor perfectly! Love it!

  16. I love love love Holly's Tree Farm! I would love to make my first Christmas quilt with this fabric! I am a new quilter and love looking at all this fabric! So exciting!

  17. OK, call me crazy, but I would most definitely LOVE to get one of the Christmas fabric grab bags. I am nuts about grab bags and remnant ends of fabric. I love them! I guess because I scrap quilt and paper piece and makes lots of little things those pieces of fabric no one wants to mess with are just my style!

  18. Cold Spell by Laundry Basket Quilts for Moda but please don't ask me to choose between the prints or the batiks because I love them both!!

  19. I have already used Holly's Tree Farm in making your Layers of Charm pattern. Now just to figure out how to quilt it on my new Tiara II quilting machine I received for my birthday Today! Kind of scary!

  20. The Glisten collection is really pretty. I think I could do a lot with that! But Holly's Tree Farm is one I've had my eye on for a while now.

  21. I've buy Christmas fabric year-round, and have a lot of BasicGrey, and need to get some Evergreen soon! I also like Jingle by Kate Spain. Thanks for the chance to win! jacklynnsteven at netzero dot com
