Q: What projects are included in Sew It?
A: There are 16 amazing projects in this book that are made using precuts. They are super affordable and easy to achieve.

Q: What is your favorite part of the book?
A: My favorite part of the book…. Oh, there are so many, I couldn’t choose just one thing.. I love the fresh color palette and the photos, and diagrams are amazing too!

Q: What’s next for Allison Nicoll?
A: Well, I’ve started sketching ideas for book #2, so I am itching to get started on that. I will continue to teach my love of stitching to kids and adults alike, it’s such a blessing to be able to share what you love with others. Check, out what I’m up to by heading to my Facebook page.

  11. I like to make Quillows with precuts The fabrics that are chosen for a specific bundle helps out a lot, because I would of never been able picked on my own.

  12. There in lies my problem. I don't know what to do with my pre-cuts! I'm too anxious about having the perfect project or pattern planned, that I can't bring myself to cut into them. Help! As of now, I just admire them as they sit on a shelf…waiting for that perfect idea.

  13. I love precuts because I always want the newest lines of fabrics & this is a way to use them without having to spend a lot of money. I like to make small quilts with them. This book would be great help in teaching my granddaughter to sew.

  14. Truth is I mostly make sewing room decorations with jelly rolls-they're so enticing to me. I do have a quilt picked out for 1 of my many rolls.

  15. I love to make lap quilts from pre cuts. I couldn't believe how quickly it went together when I made the first one.

  16. Quilts, bags, pillowcases…I'm always looking for fun precut projects. They're a great way to get a variety of fabrics for a smaller price! Thanks for the chance!

  17. I love precuts!! I have made baby quilts, large quilts, zip bags, totes, and purses!! I love that you can get a scrappy look that is color coordinated. I went on a cruise in March and used a jelly roll for one quilt project and a layer cake for my second quilt project!

  18. I've made baby quilts with 5-inch squares. I alternate prints with a coordinating gingham, dot, or solid and layer it with a minky fabric. It's so cute, quick and soft.

I love using Charm packs, great fro sooo many things..totes, baby blankets, larger quilts too..kitchen accessories..on & on. Have not used Jelly Rolls yet, and only a Layer Cake once so far.

  20. Love precuts. Use them whenever I can. Love having a little bit of each piece in a collection. Always looking for ideas to efficiently use precuts in a quilt. Cindy

  22. I like to use precuts for many of my kitchen accessories or small gifts that I make. I also have a charm pack that I am planning to use for a baby quilt.

  23. I have several precuts on my shelves right now! One is intended for a quilt as you go tote bag and the rest are all for quilts!

  24. I'm new to sewing and am yet to use precuts. This book would be great for some ideas! I love looking at jellyrolls and charm packs, hopefully one day I'll work myself up to making quilts!

  25. OMG…this contest is for me! I love books….I devour books! I actually wanted to be a librarian when I was a little girl. I hoard books, especially quilting books…..it's a combination of my two favorite things. If I won any of these books I would use it to inspire myself to make quilts, totes, mini quilts, pot holders, the list never ends. I am a book/quilting fanatic! And pre-cuts just make things easier πŸ™‚

  26. Precuts allow me to make quick gifts and there so many patterns out there now for precuts. Love your book reviews and would love to win one of them.

  27. The longer I piece the more uses I find for pre-cuts. They are so versatile, color coordinated, and save me a lot of time. I often sew strip sets then get creative. Many of my recent projects are original designs using pre-cuts. I just plain love them – in all shapes and sizes!

  28. It's great that young people have a book to go to for sewing. My daughter didn't like so I hope that I can teach my grandchildren in the future. They are too young right now.

  29. I love making quilts with pre-cuts. Jelly rolls and honeycombs are my favorites. I also like to make bags.

  30. I don't buy a lot of precuts! I usually do yardage! I do love a good jelly roll every now and again!! I have a few patterns dog eared in my jelly roll bookS!! time to get sewing again!!

  31. Baby quilts made from charm squares are fun because I can indulge in just enough of a fabric line I like–kind of get it out of my system and then see what the next line I'll fall in love with turns out to be.

  32. I am inspired by seeing new ways to use colors together that I may have not thought of. I have always found it hard to coordinate colors and to try new schemes. Quilt
Books help me make better choices.
