Quiltmaker's Parade of Homes Blog Hop - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Quiltmaker’s Parade of Homes Blog Hop

Hey everyone! I’m so excited to be a part of Quiltmaker’s Parade of Homes. Quiltmaker has invited 12 designers (including me!) to customize Lori Holt‘s Home Sweet Home quilt block with their own style. Lynette Anderson, Julie Herman, Carrie Nelson, Nancy Mahoney and Gail Pan are just a few designers that are joining me in the Parade!
Lori has been one of my quilty idols for a long time, and since I’ve met her, my obsession with her work has grown immensely (enough to publish two books and more in the works!). So of course I jumped at the chance to be in her Parade of Homes – if only I could really live that close to her!

Since Lori is a scrappy quilter, my house block is a lesson in scrappiness (I’m still learning). Here is my Home Sweet Home block! I used Country Girls by Tasha Noel to make my house block. It feels like a lovely cottage you’d stumble upon in the countryside, with fresh white paint and a welcoming red door.

Visit Quiltmaker to a free baby house block pattern, quilting motif and more information about the Parade of Homes Online Extravaganza! (Plus! They are having a giveaway as well!)

  1. Love your house block, Kimberly. I'm a Lori Holt fan, too. Her Quilty Fun book is one of my favorite.
Thank you for the heads up, the free little house block pattern at Quilt Maker. Looks like a good pattern for those small scraps and trimmings that accumulate in the bottom of my scrap box.

  2. Love your house. Looks so fresh and summery (is that a word?!). Thanks to you and the Jolly Jabber for all your inspiration, generosity, and work that goes into it.

  3. I love love love the little ducks on the front lawn of your cottage!!! What a clever idea!
